Thanks everyone!

Has anyone booked their flights through Celebrity? If so were the prices better than you could get on your own? Thanks!

Yes
Thank you!

Can women wear capris in the evenings? Thanks!

Taxis are readily available. Prior to 6:00 am there is a 1000 XPF (about $10 USD) surcharge. Depending upon you plans you may want to walk slow and get a taxi just after 6:00 am.
Thanks!

Will there be taxis at PPT around 5:30/6:00 am in the morning or do I need to arrange private transfers to our hotel? Thanks!

One of the Gauguines was kind enough to give us one. We love it. :)
Lucky!

Thanks! I definitely want a real one.
If you want an original handmade one, go to Ranatonga. That is where I got mine. Remember you can get the factory made one almost anywhere. But to get a true tifaifai go to Ranatonga in the Cooks Islands.Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Does the IC in Tahiti only have the show on fridays?

I've attached a PDF giving info on what there is to do right around the PG mooring location on Tahiti ....
I'm getting close to tips and hints as you board your PG cruise ;)
Saved it!

First let me say thank you all for the kind responses. I love it when people interact and ask questions about the area/island I'm giving info on and / or pictures. I have a huge amount of knowledge and frankly if I was to go into detail in all my experiences I'd probably do it as a blog or write a book. Don't have the time right now for that but I can answer questions along the way but I'd prefer that it stays on target on the island / area I'm discussing at the moment.
Yes it does take considerable time to sort though thousands of photos taken over many years and get then sorted in one file and then pick out the best to share so the only gauge I have that doing so is needed thus to continue is a bit of chatter ;)
To answer your question Karen there are a few options. Without taking public transportation I would suggest walking past the Market and go to the marina. There you will find some nice restaurants with a view of the Marina and/or Moorea. Italian, French and polynesian restaurants can be found here. It's about a mile from the IC.
I would not recommend going to the left when leaving the IC if your going to be walking at night, I'll leave it at that.
The other option is to take the public bus and go into PPT where there are several restaurants and of course the waterfront Roulottes which are very good. The bus is $3 each way per person, many PG cruisers meet at the IC and come together and take a taxi together, about $25 to the waterfront each way at dinner time. There are usually taxis at the IC waiting, just make sure when they hail you a taxi that it will accomadate the amount of people you have going.
One of the favorite food trucks at the waterfront
I know where I’m heading for dinner one night!

I’m reading it all! Loving it, but understand that you do have a life. If and when you post more I will definitely be reading it. Thanks for all the wonderful info and pictures!

Yes they were nice---really like the overwater ones.
Thanks!

Taken last July at the beginning of their mini Heiva which was put on as a celebration of the victory, mostly friends and family of the troupe, I managed to take this picture from a distance with my longest lens and shot at an incredibly high ISO of 6400. This was the entrance welcoming dancers ...
Thanks for all the info! I love looking at all the pixs!

My husband and I stayed in the new OWBs at the IC in July before the Reunion Cruise. In the past we've stayed in the Panoramic Rooms. We loved the new OWB. They did a great job with the décor, the size of the outside deck, and the bathroom was wonderful.
Granted, the color of the water is not the same as the lagoon in Bora Bora, but the views were beautiful. We had made the trip to Tahiti in one day leaving Boston for LAX then on to Papeete. Recovering from jet lag the next day on the lounges on our deck was just wonderful. We found the resort to be clean, the food great, and the service friendly.
I can't comment on the older OWBs since we have not stayed in them. Linda
Thanks

I will be staying one night in one of the motu bungalows (pre-cruise) and have been told they are very spacious and nice. My cruise is in three weeks, so I'll find out how nice they are very soon.
Thanks!

This past July we also needed a day room. They do not exist. Every hotel wanted us to pay the standard nightly rate. We are going again next Juky and our travel agent again received a price from the IC that I thought was way too high. I know some travel agents may be able to get a day rate but ours could not and direct emails by me to the hotels also were not successfully
If you just want a clean place for the day which is in close proximity to the water front check out Fare Suisse. A small pension that is fine for the day and the owner will provide transport at no extra charge.
Thanks!

I am trying to plan our budget for our trip and can’t find info on day rate at the hotel. Does anyone have an estimate? Thanks

I did not stay in one while I was there but had did have a few chances to walk through some. They really aren't the iconic bungalows that you see in the pictures. The water in Tahiti is not quite the spectacular shades of blue. That being said the resort itself is excellent and is a fantastic opening act to an amazing journey. If you are set on getting a bungalow, then the motu ones had the best overall location but I personally would skip the bungalow here especially if money is tight.
Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I just booked thru Celebrity and it was about $1200 cheaper than if I’d booked it myself. That’s business class from Atl - Venice.
