It's a "24 carat GOLD ship on a stick". It a prize they give you for winning games such as trivia on Carnival ships. It's a gold plastic carnival ship model on a base. They always joke about it being 24 carat GOLD plastic. They are most coveted items. My sits on the stereo shelf in my living room to remind me of all the fun I have on Carnival ships. I know somewhere here on the boards there is a photo of it. Do a search.

BTW-I have an extra Elation I would like to trade for a Paradise (just in case I can't win one one my own) to add to my "fleet."

Carnival has great writing pens- very thick with the carnival logo- I always bring one back from our cabin at the end of the cruise!
Princess has stick pens (not as nice as Carnival's) with the logo. Princess also gives away lots of gift-shop goodies for prizes for Trivia & contests (I got several tote-bags, key chains & magnets!)

I'm going on Paradise in 10 days--since they don't have "past guest" parties & are only giving them to Platinum members, I'm hoping I can either find one in the shops or through the website.

OH NO!!!! I have just gained ten pounds reading these posts!:eek: And that is a BIG problem! I leave for my cruise on Saturday and now I won't fit into my new dress! I will however be eating that warm melting cake in just a few days.......:)
I've got 12 days to lose 2 1/2 lbs, then I go on these FOODIE message boards--I'm never going to make it!

Carnival has a good price on Elation, Oct. 18,2008, 5 nights out of San Diego to Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada, Mexico, plus 2 sea days.
I got a single occupancy 1A category, with automatic upgrade to 4B level cabin (nicer interior cabin), for just under $400.
For that price, I can travel with my parents in a balcony cabin-- why do they punish us for saving the work of making up 2 beds & opening more seating at dinner

Friend of mine was detoured N on Princess out of Long Beach, due to Hurricane J. She called when she got back to see what "bribes" Carnival offered, because she didn't get a thing! She's writing a letter of protest, saying Carnival was better!
