As soon as they are opened. There will be a check box in the reservation to apply your complimentary dinner(s). Do as Colin advised!

Dining reservations are open, but I don't find a check box to apply my complimentary meals.  Where will I find it and what does it look like?

On another thread someone posted that the laundry list in one of the ships no longer includes the "cleaning" option (the equivalent of what used to be "dry cleaning, just regular laundry and pressing options.

Does the laundry list on the Ruby still include the "cleaning option?"

    Thanks.

You absolutely can get either on Ruby.

Something unusual, sorry we have not heard from someone boarding.  This is my home port have boarded ships at least a dozen times.  Only once did I experience something like this.  Happened when ship came in late because of a medical emergency on board and ship returned to Hawaii to get passenger medical attention.  That time Princess told folks not to come to the port till later.  We were in line 5 hours.  Once out of 12 trips.   It would be nice to know what the cause was today.

I did say, up above in post 16, what they told us.

  4. We boarded Ruby at around 12:30, dropped off our luggage and were enjoying our lunch at around 1.  This said, we had an 11 o'clock check in time, so this was an hour or more late.  I am sure that this delay caused further delays down the line.  The delay was caused by passengers that didn't disembark in time. The officer said there were a dozen pieces of unclaimed luggage and they had to find the people who belonged to it before letting us on the ship.

But, without a doubt, the protocols on the Ruby Princess changed dramatically from his first cruise (Feb 10 to Hawaii) to the current cruise. Part of that is driven by Hawaii dropping their Safe Travel program on Mar 25, but much of it is driven by the dropping of the mask mandate effective Mar 1 (and more masks were worn on the Feb 25 cruise than later cruises), the dropping of interim cruise testing starting with the Mar 12 cruise and the buffet becoming self serve starting with the Mar 27 cruise.

The buffet actually became self serve on March 12, and suddenly smoking was allowed in the casino, we didn't have to wear masks when walking to our tables in the dining room, they stopped testing a couple of days in, and more.  That was the date when I started shaking my head and thinking "this is a recipe for disaster."  I will actually board again tomorrow with my daughter.  We will eat in specialty dining every day to avoid crowds (we hope) and either be outdoors or somewhere distant from other people.  My daughter is a teacher and surrounded by Covid on a daily basis, and had successfully avoided it, so hopefully her good habits will get her through.  I had my second booster upon returning home on the 27th, so hope that will help.

My friend just returned from a cruise on Celebrity Silhouette, and came home with Covid.  So this problem is certainly not unique to Princess cruise ships, although presumably it is handled better than your experience on other ships.

    Hope you feel better soon!

I just received my PCR test results from yesterday and I am negative.

After disembarking Ruby on March 27 and getting home to find my husband was positive for Covid-19, I had all kinds of Covid symptoms, from coughing to congestion to headache and difficulty breathing on and on.  But once I tested negative several days in a row the symptoms went away.  I now wonder if they were psychosomatic because I was so stressed out about him having Covid and worried that I and my family at home might get it.  Hopefully, now that your PCR test came back negative, the stress will be relieved and your symptoms will lessen.

  7. If you truly love wine, you will want to take a good look at the wine list and order by the bottle.  Most of the best wines on the list are only available by the bottle, and they really are excellent wines.  I am not sure who curated their wine selection but whoever did it knew what they were doing.  If you can't finish the bottle, the servers will be happy to work it and save it for the next day for you

  8. I had lots of trouble also for my upcoming California Coastal on Ruby, even though I had no trouble for my recent Panama Canal on the same ship.  I did a whole bunch of stuff: uninstalled and reinstalled the app, deleted and reentered my credit card info, deleted and reentered all my personal information, double checked for spaces that Princess likes to add after fields in the app, and on and on and on.  Nothing helped; still couldn't reserve the specialty restaurants.  Then, magically, the next day the app let me make my reservations.

  9. If not whale watching, then luxury Day Sail.  Both are fantastic.  You must get out on the water in Cabo.  It is lovely.

If you are opposed to water tours, then the taco tour through Juan More Taco is fun for all, but be prepared to eat too much 😉

In the terms of an ex programmer TRIM

I also was a software engineer, so I definitely always check for that when a field that looks correct isn't accepted.  The MedallionClass app adds plenty of trailing blanks when one enters data.  Although we are required to use it, it isn't actually ready for prime time, in my opinion.  It is full of odd bugs -- like it was never tested or something.

This is the only issue I have had with the Medallion.  Deleted the app and reinstalled and everything worked perfectly.   Another thing you may want to check is if you have MDR reservations for the night you are trying to book it will not let you double book.   Delete the MDR booking for the night you are attempting to book specialty and it will

    work.

This looked like a good idea, so I deleted and reinstalled the app.  I still can't make specialty restaurant reservations, but now I simply get "an error occurred.".

  12. I have been trying to make specialty dining reservations for a cruise that is coming up in two weeks, and have had trouble using both an Android and an Apple device.  The problem is that every time I try, I get the error:  "Failed to make reservation.  Please update your address in personal information & documents and try again."  Although my address was correct, I deleted and re-entered my address in the app, and for good measure deleted and re-entered my credit card in the app.  Same problem.  Anyone else encounter this problem?  Just so you know I'm not a newbie, I successfully made dining (including specialty dining) reservations for my other four Princess cruises in the last few months.  This problem is new for me.

I would appreciate any help you can provide!

Currently on the Ruby.........husband is on day 4 of quarantine....... I went for my day 4 test today and the medical personel ran out and caught me as I was getting on the elevator and told me I was positive within minutes of testing.

I have gone to the same cabin as my husband.  The first 3 days he had a terrible time getting through to room service and ordering food but after several trips by me to guest services they have finally got it worked out.  The maitre 'd has called twice and apologized and someone now calls and ask for order and what time he (now we) wants our next call/meal.  Glad they finally got it worked out!!!!  The first few days was frustrating to say the least.

Sending get-well-soon (and test-negative-soon) wishes to you both!
