  1. This Sunday I make lifetime. It's been hard for me these last few weeks. I was so used to seeing the scale go down, and it's been disheartening to see it stay relatively the same. I'm struggling to move out of "diet mode". I think I've found my perfect point place to keep me at an even keel on the scale. It's not nearly as much as I was expecting, but I've been slacking with exercise too. I've got to get back into it though as I have an 8k in a couple of weeks.

  2. So I may have lost my ever-loving mind on the cruise. I ate FOUR deserts a day! I did my egg-white omelets and exercised almost daily. I had 35 or more activity points according to my Activelink. Anyway, I really did gain 6 lbs :( Most was water weight and I was down to only being up 3 lbs by Tuesday. I've either been on the elliptical or ran 6 days this week, and I can happily say I'm down 1 lb from my pre-cruise weight. My official weigh in is improve, but my scale is accurate to theirs it should be the same or even better, since I ran 4 miles while pushing our son in the jogging stroller today.

  3. I DID IT! Weighed in this morning and I am .6 lbs below my goal weight. I have 4 days until we leave for vacation, so I'm sticking to my low points for the rest of the week. If I can drop another lb before leaving, it will make me feel better about the food damage I'm going to do on the ship. I'm going to try to have a sensible breakfast and lunch, but I'm going to enjoy dinner while cruising. I plan on hitting the ship's gym and running track each evening after putting my lo down for the night. It's what I do at home, so it's nothing new for me to workout at night. May as well continue it on vaca.

  4. I went to my meeting yesterday, but opted not to weigh in. I was up a lb, and I want this week to be the week I hit goal. I weighed at home this morning, and I'm back down. I assume it was water weight yesterday from a salty meal. I'm probably going to swing by and weigh in tomorrow just to give myself one more day to lose a cushion in case there is a scale difference. Fingers crossed I hit my number!!

  5. I'm not exactly sure what happened this week, but I had a HUGE loss of 3.4 lbs!!!! I'm only .6 away from my goal!!! I'm so excited. This week I'm going to the gym a minimum of 3 times to ensure those .6 lbs come off. That will give me a week to see how the extra 6 points are going to affect me before I head out for our cruise.

  6. Good intentions often do not get followed and that has been my downfall this past week. I have had very little water to drink all week and ate a number of things that are not going to contribute to a loss. My exercise routine has also been quite minimal. I don't know what to attribute all this to except weight loss fatigue. I am giving myself a scathing talking to this morning and will get back to all aspects of the program. We leave for our vacation and cruises in 7 weeks. I want to lose the rest of my weight ( and the extra that I have gained lately) before we leave. It will be close but if I follow the guidelines to the letter, I can do it, and then enjoy myself for the 2 months we are away. My plan is to be able to eat the wonderful bread on the cruise ships and in France. I will not be able to do that if I don't lose this weight here first.

You can definitely do this! Forget last week and just look forward. You can't change what happened already, but you can change how you react to it. Use your setback to propel you forward to success.

When I had my slight gain the week before last, I was a bit disappointed. I told my meeting attendees I think I needed it to get me re-focused on my goal. Sure enough I came back last week with a big loss. Sometimes we need to see what eating everything in sight (I'm speaking based on how I behave) does to us on the scale.

  7. Had a great and unexpected weight loss at my weigh in on Sunday to get down to 1.6 pounds below WW goal as we leave tomorrow to meet the Eurodam in Amsterdam on Wed for a 12 day Baltic Adventure.

Goal for the trip is maintain or small gain for which I will be adding 5 PPV daily to my daily point total.

Cruise tricks I use to achieve this along with the usual tracking...

Increase activity..walk steps and around ship, active excursions where possible and eat meals in MDR, Pinnacle, Tamarind or Canaletto.. AVOIDING the godawful cafeteria as much as possible

    Awesome!! Enjoy your vacation!!

I can't wait to get those 5 extra points in a couple of weeks. I hope to keep weight gain at bay during my cruise by exceed using every evening on the ship. We will be traveling with our 20 month old who goes to bed around 8. I currently run after putting him down, and I plan on doing the same while on the ship. Normally we do active excursions, and I've always maintained while traveling. I'm not counting on those with him in tow.

  8. Well, I am up .6. I assumed it would be a gain week. I didn't run as much, and I'm super sore from my Fri workout. I know logically muscle soreness equals water retention, but I still don't like seeing the gain. 4 weeks until my cruise means 1.7 lbs each week until we leave. I can do it!!

  9. It's funny you guys are talking about WI days. A friend and I go to meetings on Sundays. She was saying we should switch after a particularly bad WI due to eating Outback the night before. My DH and I go out to eat on Sun evenings instead of Sat due to my WI day.

  10. I had an unexpected great WI - down 2.6 lbs! I'm so close to goal. The regional person was at my meeting today. She pulled me aside to ask if I had ever considered working pt for WW. I don't think I have the time to commit to it, but I was very flattered.

I also participated in my first running event yesterday. It was a color vibe 5k. Another WW friend and I did it together, and we had a blast. I started a couch to 5k program in April which was a big step for me. I'm moving forward to the 10k now.

  11. I hate plain water unless I'm running. Even then, I have to fill my water bottle with ice. I can drink it any other way. I have become a huge fan of those crystal light squeeze things. I plan on bringing a couple on my next cruise. Not only will it help me stay hydrated, but I'll also save some money. No soda package for me this year!

  12. I used to travel regularly for work. I wasn't eating extremely salty food, but my hands always would swell. I just think it goes with travel. The same thing happens with ling car trips too. Typically, I don't drink enough water to flush my system when I'm traveling. I find I either get too busy, or I do it on purpose to avoid having to use an airplane restroom. I have to take a water pill to help.

  13. On the cruise I took prior to having my son, I was at my goal weight. I didn't focus on eating well to be honest. Instead I focused on being active. We don't like just sitting on a beach or by the pool, so we are on the go non-stop when we are in port. We also pick port intensive cruises. I wound up maintaining despite eating way beyond what WW would ever allow in a week's worth of points.

This cruise I am also hoping to be a goal. I'll be cutting it close though. Once again, I am going to focus more on my activity level rather than my food. I've started running, and I plan on hitting the running track or treadmill at night when my son is asleep.

  14. I will get my 16 week charm this week. I'm down 22 lbs so far, and I hope to reach goal before my next cruise at the end of August. I've done WW before online, but this is the first time for me to attend meeting. After eating poorly for nearly 2 years thanks to pregnancy and nursing, I needed to face someone each week to weigh in. It's working!
