Yes if you book it they will send you a confirmation of the booking, and you can cancel anytime. I remember not being sure myself when I first booked this lot because of what is said about Fridays but I think that is only effective in mid summer when the lot is filled with pax from the NCL ship that leaves on Friday nights to Bermuda. If you throw in other dates earlier during the summer for longer cruises the lot is shown as not available because it is already totally sold out. Here there are still openings.

I just booked it. Fingers crossed that it works. I'll make sure to get there early.

Not sure if it's the same lot, but IIRC there have been a number of discussions here on CC about this very lot. I believe we're referring to the C1 and C2 lots right next to the cruise pier, and next to the Boston police harbor patrol office, easily found on Google Maps/Street View, on Black Falcon Ave immediately west of the terminal building.  I recollect a number of users/cruisers saying that they used the C1 lot recently with no problems, but upon arrival had to call the phone number on the sign, to have the attendant walk over from the C2 lot right next door to let them in.  I too would very much want to use the covered garage you mention, but a number of folks here on CC keep saying that cruise ship parking is very much discouraged at that lot. When you visited their office, did you mention that you were getting on a cruise ship, and if so, what was their reaction?  Thanks for info....

So it does say it only has an attendant on fridays. But someone else said that is just for the Bermuda cruises that leave on Fridays in the summer. But in any event, if I reserve this lot and there is no one there, I can call a number or even just go to the C2 lot and ask someone to come over to assist me? Do you or anyone know the phone number to call if no one is there?

    Oh ok. Thanks!

Here is the link with your info inserted as Sept 7 11am to Sept 22 11am, which you can adjust if needed. There is also a $12 service fee added for a total of $212.

Wow! Thank you for the link!! But it says only for ships leaving on Friday. If I am understanding it correctly, someone in an above post said they called and received confirmation that it is only for parking on Fridays. That on other days there is no one there. But you parked there last year for your HAL cruise on a day other than Friday and you able to park there with no problems?

The C1 lot is open and bookable for $200 during this time frame, and it is an attended lot as I have parked there for HAL cruises that leave on Saturdays from the port. If there are openings in that lot on a Saturday that are being offered for booking now then there will be someone there.

Where is the link to book it for $200 during this time frame? I can find just about anything on the internet but how to book 14 nights in September for $200 in Boston.

For a 15 day cruise, $450 is right on. For our 7 dayer in July I was quoted $210, so the rate is $30/day. Look on the bright side, at least it's not Manhattan at $45/day ;o(

Here is the rate schedule for the ABM garage one block north of the cruise terminal. Price is the same $30/day

That is absolutely insane. One site quotes $200 for a 14 night cruise. I will make friends with someone living nearby before I pay $450 to park my car

The description on Parkwhiz for that lot says "This location is only used for Cruise Ships that come in on Friday.". I opened a ticket with Parkwhiz to confirm, and they said to call the operator at  (617) 482-2487, which I did, and they confirmed that they only have a person there on Friday, and there is no automated entry into the lot. So even though Parkwhiz will let you book it for Saturday Sep 7, it would seem you can't get in.

Wow! Thanks for that added info

Welcome to Cruise Critic ;o) I will attempt to remember to do so. FWIW, Boston is a "seasonal" cruise port, so the season is only just starting off for 2024 so there wouldn't have been much discussion recently on this subject. I am quite sure there will be a lot of posts and threads here in this forum over the next few weeks and months about the parking situation and I will be following them closely myself.

While I still plan to use either the C1 lot or the covered garage, my third fallback is the "official" Boston Cruise Port parking lot at 93 Fargo Street. Unfortunately the Cruise Port website clearly states "Parking arrangements must be made online prior to arrival" and I'm not a fan of booking online (what if plans change?). Interestingly, when I select the online booking, it actually shows our July 14 sailing on the Emerald Princess and shows a rate of $US210 for the cruise.

Hi, I am sailing out of Boston on RCCL's Jewel of the Seas on September 7th. It is a 15 night cruise. There doesn't seem to be any good park and stay options. My friend and I have a hotel booked just outside of Boston. We plan to drive in the next morning, which is a Saturday. When I go on the official cruise port parking site, I see my cruise listed. When I select my cruise, the price for parking is $450! 😱  😱 Holy cow that is a lot of money. Surely there must be other parking options that are more affordable?

  9. I am thinking of going to Burwood Beach. I've read nice reviews on TripAdvisor. Not that that necessarily means anything. But your review is the second one where the reviewer thinks that there's some Kickback involved and that the taxi drivers are pushing Blue Waters Beach. Burwood Beach sounds nicer than Blue Waters Beach from what I've read. I'm just a little nervous to go there with myself and my 16 year old daughter.

  10. I have been doing some research in Burwood Beach, only a 5-mile taxi ride from Falmouth seems like a good beach. I'm trying to find out more information though. I want to make sure it's safe because it would be me and my 16 year old daughter.

  11. An Uber from Universal to the Port is about $45 for an UberX. Have done it multiple times. The Uber Select which are slightly nicer cars is $80. Renting a car one way is madness and a waste of a lot of time and energy.

I want to get an Uber about 10pm on a Saturday night to bring me to Port Canaveral. What is the likelihood of my finding a driver?

  12. last time I ran the UBER estimator it gave a price of $80 but note that UBER prices are dynamic. It could be higher, I doubt you'd see it 'much' lower ... maybe $75 ....

With some shopping and a discount code, rentals for short term and one way can be had for as little as $45 (one day). Once you get ON SR-528 the drive is a piece of cake (but DOES involve tolls ... you CAN pay cash - bring a roll of quarters and you'll be covered for a one way drive.) Sorry but from Universal to 528 you are probably gonna end up on I-4 for a few miles and this can be a b*i*t*c*h especially on a weekday during rush hours.

You might also look at a rental for ALL your time in Orlando with a return at the port as these too can be found for 'a good price' AND can save you additional costs for getting meals, buying last minute items for the cruise etc etc. The driving isn't bad in the area most of the time .... over 50% of the cars you'll see will be folks just like you: semi lost tourists trying to follow directions from spousal unit who's watching the MAP APP on their phone!!!!

Capt BJ, how can I find a cheap rental like that? I'm leaving Walt Disney World Saturday night and headed to Cocoa Beach to my hotel and sailing out on the Oasis Sunday morning. I would love to get a rental Saturday and return it Sunday morning at the price you quoted.

  13. Availability will depend upon the number of Uber drivers in the area. The drive will take an hour plus and you can get an approximate fare estimate by entering the start and stop points into this web site: http://uberestimate.com/ -- you're looking at roughly $75 for an UberX and $110+ for UberXL

Thank you for the link. That's great! Says it's between $56-$75. I just wish I could book something ahead of time. I hate the uncertainty of Uber.

  14. Try Serenity TVL, Real St Lucia Tours, Franks Tours, Barefoot Holidays, etc for a combo land/sea tour.

Both Spencer and Cosol are excellent tours, you wouldn't go wrong with either.

    Enjoy.

Thanks! I'll look into them all. Still undecided!

  15. I am going to St Lucia with my 15 year old daughter at the end of December on Royal Caribbean. I am torn between Spencer and Cosol. I like the drive in the van with Cosol and the reviews of the food sound better with him, though I could be wrong. I do like the boat with Spencer and getting more time on the beach 2 1/2 hours versus 1 hour with Cosol. I wish there was a tour that drove one way and took the boat the other. Not sure which one I'll take. Cosol seems to get better reviews on TripAdvisor but hear more about Spencer on these boards.

  16. I will be in Port Canaveral on March 22nd with Royal Caribbean for the day. I want to go to Universal Studios from the port. I don't really want to take the excursion through the ship because it doesn't give you much time. I am a little nervous about getting back to the ship in time with all the traffic there will be since it's spring break. I'm interested in finding out how much uber would be.

  17. As I wrote below: The experts are lining up and saying RCI Really Screwed up and people other than Royal Cheerleaders need to know

The 168,666-ton vessel should not have sailed southward from New York into the path of the growing weather system, which eventually packed winds of up to 100 mph and created waves higher than 20 to 30 feet, WeatherBell meteorologist Ryan Maue told USA TODAY.

I agree with you completely. One can be loyal to Royal and still be able to use critical thinking skills to look at this situation open mindedly.
