You also have to take into account the height of what you are looking at. I am a navigation officer on US merchant ships and I have seen ships in the day at 17 miles and lights from ships at night up to 24 plus miles away.

The steak house would be totally worth it. Everything there is amazing. The thing that impressed my family most...and please don't laugh at me, but it was the baked potato. We knew the steak would be wonderful, but the potato was the the most perfectly cooked potato I have ever had. And don't get me started on the creamed spinach...baby spinach leaves wilted in a cream sauce.

Now please excuse me while I go and get a mop to sop up my puddle of drool. :)

I don't think I've ever forgotten anything. I have a small file folder and put all the paperwork we need in it in order.(flights, hotel, cruise docs, excursions etc.)

As for packing, put your outfits together and put them on your bed so you can double check what you have. And bring more underwear than you think you will need.

Don't forget:

card with magnetic strip for the safe (old gift card, AAA card)

flashlight

small bills for tipping

alarm clock

post it notes

As many others have said, it is fine dining. My family went to the steak house for the first time last year and we are still talking about it. The meal takes longer than in the MDR but it didn't feel like it. Everything was nicely paced. The steak is amazing, but that's to be expected. What surprised us, was how good the sides were. I got the creamed spinach and baked potato. We all know what that looks like, right? Not so much at the steak house. the spinach was baby spinach leaves wilted in a cream sauce and the potato was the best baked potato I have ever had complete with more sides than I can remember. My family is cruising again in November and we are very much looking forward to going to the steak house again.
