More to come. Posting live from the Escape 7/22.

Just got back 3 weeks ago and my first time walking into The District Brewhouse I had to strike this pose and my husband and two friends said "what is that?" I said that was for TheDougOut!!!!

  2. Thank you for the extremely fun morning Read! I have a friend from work on your cruise and hopped on to see if the storms had caused any problems with the cruise. So glad I did! We will be on the Escape for the 2nd time in Feb.

If you enjoy specialty coffee's as I do love a Baileys coffee order your coffee and a shot of Baileys on the side and it's included in the UDP.

I know you said you don't like sugary but might I suggest a Raspberry Guava mojito from Sugar Cane, they are so delicious! Enjoy! Can't wait to read more

I'm going to take some shots of Bailey's back to my room for my morning coffee in the room on the balcony in the morning. I will make sure to try the Mojito in Sugar Cane! See you on board AZ!

  3. You can only sign up for After Midnight and The Brat Pack ahead of time. The Company Men as well as the comedy shows and the rotating Supper Club entertainer all can be reserved as soon as you board. Dining slots are only open for a small percentage right now, the majority will open up as soon as you board. Book it before you go to lunch. Cagney's and Teppanyaki will be sold out by sail away. There are stand by lines that open up 10 minutes prior to all shows since that is when no shows lost their reservations.

The worst crowding you'll see all week is at the elevator banks right after muster drill. Second worst is poolside on sea days. Enjoy, it's a great ship. I will be on her in September for the third straight time.

Can you use the phone app to reserve once you are on the ship or do you have to go to the desk? I also thought I read somewhere that you can place your reservations on touchscreens throughout the ship.

  4. Random thoughts that don't belong anywhere before I start Day 6:

They should kill one of the parties at Spice H20 (not the 80s) and do a Michael Jackson vs. Prince party. Or just Prince all night. Or maybe just when I'm cruising.

I think Wings is better than the Beatles. Fight me! Also Queen doesn't get enough love. i'd say they should have a early 90s rap party but I know that will cause a race riot.

We were in room 14248 if I didn't mention it. We weren't able to get a handicapped accessible room for 3 people so the room sucked. I mean 3 people can make it if everyone unpacks but if you travel with Megan, she's stubborn and insisted her luggage sit in the space between the closet and her sofa bed. And I had to park the scooter outside and looking back, I should have parked it in the area near the elevators so it wouldn't have been confiscated but hindsight is 20/20. Don't ask if we were Port side or whatever the other name is because I'm just learning my left from right.

Two people with a scooter in a wheelchair accessible room is the bomb. So much room. You can park the scooter in the room and still have plenty of space to move around. On my first cruise with my BFF, we booked late and got an Oceanview because it was expensive over thanksgiving. Well, we ended up with an Oceanview accessible room and it was embarrassing how much room we had. So if you are handicapped, book well in advance because those rooms book quickly and if you can't get one, I'd ask to be booked near the elevators if you can't walk. The oceanview room on the Getaway was room 9700 and it was at the front of the ship and it was a country mile from the elevators to the room. Also there was no sleeping in because we would hear the anchor every morning at 7ish when we docked.

For my fellow Team Chunk ladies:

I used to care what people thought about my body and then I grew up and said f them, it's their problem. My family can be a bit hot headed Italian and we are super conscious when people stare and then we call them out. We didn't notice anyone looking with the exeception of one girl at the spa. But I think she was socially awkward. Or intimidated by lack of f's to give or maybe because I'm built like a super size coke bottle with curves. Back to the point, don't not go to the pool, spa, sun decks because you feel self-conscious. No one is paying attention and if they do, so what, you'll never see them again. And if they stare, call them out and make them feel tiny, it's a great feeling. There are so many places to get beautiful suits and cover-ups for us larger ladies (hit me up if you want to know where) that it would be a crime to stay away because of small-minded people. *end of rant*

Curvy girl here and I try to be just like you and go where I want. I have really loved your outfits and would love to know where to look online for some for my cruise in February

  5. After we finished our drinks and it got dark, we went down to O'Sheehans to play some games before dinner. You just swipe your card for all of them...

Mini bowling looked fun but we never went back to play..

We played this for a while, but it wasn't easy since the puck kept sticking to the table..

Do you remember how much the games were for me to budget. Thank you.

  6. Has anyone been on a cruise when the Super Bowl is played? Will there be enough spots to sit and watch? Any parties? We will be on a cruise next year during the Super Bowl and just wanted to make sure to be in the right spot at the right time! Thank you.

  7. Hello fellow cruisers!

I’m hoping someone can help me out here. I have 2 questions, and I KNOW I have seen answers elsewhere on these threads before, but I am coming up empty now…

    1. INTERNET – I will need to purchase internet while I’m on my 4-day Norwegian Sky cruise in a few weeks. Does anyone know how late into the cruise you can buy the unlimited internet? My sister is traveling sans husband and child for the first time, so she needs to stay connected in some capacity in case of emergency. I don’t want to buy pre-cruise, because we don’t need it the first day, so I’m hoping that we could buy the second day at a prorated price. We’re still debating buying unlimited vs. buying a set number of minutes. I don’t think we need unlimited, and I hate to spend so much on internet service that is slow and spotty at best, but she is nervous about being unreachable. I’m also aware that we will probably be able to find free wifi in Freeport and Nassau, but I’m asking about the internet on board, specifically. We would both love to disconnect completely, but that’s not an option for this cruise.

    2. GREAT STIRRUP CAY – My second question… starting at what time do you need a tender ticket? I think somewhere I saw 10am? So if you go ashore before 10am, you don’t need a tender ticket? Just looking for some clarity here.

    Thanks y'all :-D

We just got off of the Sky and you went to Dazzles nightclub to get tender ticket for the first few tenders and then you will he them call your tender number over the PA. Then after a certain time you just go get in line for the next available tender.
