  1. At midnight I went on the website to make reservations for our February cruise to Cuba.  I am a diabetic and need the earlier reservations.  There were no reservations available in any restaurants until 8:30 or 9:00 which is too late for me to eat. When I called Oceania, the representative told me there was nothing she could do.  Also border line rude. This cruise is the 2nd week of a 3 week cruise and it looks like the 1st week passengers booked up the earlier times.  Unfortunately our travel agent is on vacation and that is why we called Oceania.

    Any suggestions!

  2. We were first timers on Oceania and were thrilled with the ship, the service and the food. Riviera is a beautiful ship filled with art work and spacious public areas. Our stateroom (B2) had lots of storage and a very functional bathroom complete with a bathtub and separate shower stall. There was a laundry room with 3 washers and dryers down the hall. The soap was free and each machine was one token ($2.00).

We ate in each specialty restaurant once and in the Terrace Cafe the rest of the time. The Terrace is a classy buffet with tablecloths. Although it is a buffet, you walk along the line and say what you want. They grill lobster tails, jumbo shrimp, lamb chops etc. in a matter of minutes. No need to dress up. They call it country club casual, but anything goes except jeans and shorts at dinner. The specialty restaurants are wonderful and a real treat.

Oceania is very port intensive and provided shuttles at most of the ports. We did a Mediterranean cruise and the ship sailed at night and stayed in port during the day. There were often Hop on Hop off buses available at the shuttle stops or by the boat.

The entertainment at 9:30 every night was fine. We had a very funny comedian and a couple of singers. The shows were very energetic and lots of fun. We also enjoyed the free internet throughout the ship. There was never a problem logging on. Just remember that only one device can be used at a time. One last thought. We bought 2 bottles of wine before the cruise and had no problem bringing them onboard in our carry on. The mini bar in our room was stocked daily with soda and water at no charge and of course our wine.

  3. I am going on Oceania Western Europe Wonders cruise to Barcelona, Toulon France, St Tropez, Florence/Tuscany/Pisa, Rome, Alicante, Malaga, Seville and Lisbon.

I would love recommendations on good Oceania sponsored excursions or recommendations for private tours. Thank you!!

We are on this cruise June 6 and are in the process of choosing excursions. Want to email?

  4. We did the Duoro cruise on Uniworld in April starting in Lisbon and ending in Madrid. We then went on to Barcelona on our own. All the boats are owned by Duoro Azul and the crews all work for that company. We really enjoyed the cruise and loved our daily excursions to wineries and the small towns in the mountains. We especially enjoyed our time in the city of Porto. It is a long ride from Lisbon to Porto, but the stops along the way were wonderful. We would have like a longer time in Lisbon. Portugal is a wonderful country with the friendliest people.

  5. We just returned from a Uniworld cruise from Lisbon to Madrid. It was wonderful with only a couple of rainy days. We left mid April and most days were in the mid 60's, perfect for touring. Cruising on the Duoro is an entirely different experience than the Rhine or Danube. The boat is rarely docked at a big town. Yes, there were a lot of bus trips to wineries and small towns, but we enjoyed each and every experience. The leased boats are smaller, so less passengers. Since you sailed during the day, we were able to experience the most

gorgeous scenery. This was a wonderful trip and would highly recommend it.
