    Spot on!!

Even when we embark in the port of SF, right out our back door, we still like the convenience of just having the bottled water brought to our stateroom. It is much easier for us to pack light if we don't have to lug a case of bottled along with us.

Thanks for being the voice of choice and reason. $7 for a case of water is not going to kill us, but lugging it in our luggage just might. LOL!

For those who fly in we use to take a Uber/Lyft to the nearest convenience/grocery store if you can convince your driver to wait 10 minutes while you run in and out. 3.99 case of water and some soda plus $10-20 dollar ride service fee, the water bought on the ship and grab a case in juneau or ketchikan is worth just ordering on the ship and not hauling a case of water around.

  2. We were on the same cruise with you and I can not think to add anymore to what you said

Great Weather-Always entertainment day and night- new Production show was GREAT... Staff was amazing and the Cruise Director and his crew where the best we have had in awhile.

The amatuer talent on this cruise was amazing, Karaoke night was very entertaining.

I do agree I am not sure how 10 days went by so quickly......... till next year-

  3. On our May 6th Alaska cruise, Stanley, the Princess bear, was released. Apparently, in each region, he will have a different outfit and you will be able to buy the outfit alone on future cruises. Has anyone else seen him? I would love to see what some of the other outfits are.

So adorable I want one $ do you recall what he cost?

  4. What are the thoughts those who have done this? Any details as far as cost, and how long are they on board?

Our friends will be in San Francisco the same time we are leaving and had interest- also a 10 year old son can 3 people attend? I tried the website and did not see what I was looking for.

  5. I agree dis connecting from the internet is a amazing feeling and actually enjoying your life and time off is mentally deserving and not appreciated until you do, however we did this last minute 3 day cruise and did not tell anyone just snuck away and Verizon had a plan for on ship coverage this worked while we had fun on our sick days from work....

Since that trip Verizon no longer offers the package. So I would verify with phone plan exactly what the charges are and what you get before using your phone. Each cruise has areas that are DEAD cell service and no internet or phone use in certain areas while aboard the ship.

  6. Hello,

I'm cruising on the Grand Princess next year and I have a concern about booking a mid-ship cabin because I have seen posts and even a video online (circa 2014) about the mid-ship stairs restricted to crew only between decks 8-12. The travel agent said she checked with her Princess rep AND the Princess rep's supervisor who said the mid-ship stairs ARE accessible to guests, and perhaps accessible now since the last remodel was in 2016.

Anyone sail in the last year on the Grand Princess have any insight into the mid-ship stairs?

    Thanks!

    This may help

  7. Glacier Bay Sanctuary- $60. you get all the extras on that day warm blankets-head wrap your Mimosa or Bloody Mary- yummy fresh pastries in the morning and food all through the day along with ordering off the Sanctuary/Spa menu included along with a grill run for Hamburgers or Pizza and then the 8x10 Photo in Glacier bay. We went up at 6:30 and left around 5. They treat you very well and there is no going with out. Reserve early

  8. Good Day

    Thank you in advance-

Was wondering if anyone recently off the 10 day cruise from the Grand, have any information on the classes in the Gym

Thinking of doing the cycling class and wanted to see the times along with the cost and length of class.

Also looking at doing the ship tour cost is 150 per person and have seen posts on where you get to go and see along with gifts. Anyone out there that could fill me in again specially from the Grands tour.

  9. On our past 2 cruises 2015,2016 they had Discovery Channels Shark Week- there were special photo ops set up with the theme of Sharks and photo props plus some foam shark fin head hats. A Shark week special premiere film will be shown and games on the lido deck to go along with the theme. All this is announced in your Patter the night before.

On the Lido deck watch the Trident Grill to see what daily Crab/Fish special they will be cooking up to celebrate with(check the times as the line can be long and the snack meals are very good.)

If you are cruise does Glacier Bay I have seen them bring the mushing dogs puppies on board and also some more photo props and set up with pictures holding the fur babies.

Your group will have a blast be sure and do a photo at the aft of the ship around the Aft pool, GREAT PHOTO for large groups and an crew member will be happy to assist and even take a professional picture of everyone.

  10. It's a big if, to get close. If weather is real calm and not too many bergs around the stay might be ~ 2hours. This does not count time getting up the bay and getting out.

I've heard that some don't get that close for a variety of reasons. IMHO get out on Promenade deck, go forward in the clam shell and aft as needed. I think I walked a mile during that time.

My wife got a bit chilled that day and went up to Skywalkers and had a grand time with some wine...

I still use that glacier in my signature line...

    framer

No skywalkers on the Grand..... :(
