  1. Completely agree. We noticed this on Grandeur and Legend. The lack of continuous music is very disappointing. Often we skipped dinner so we could here the little music available. On a positive note we had good music on radiance but often the two bands played at exact same times and the big set was 10:15 to midnight. If there was nothing to do until 10:00 we would go to bed and skip the last set.

  2. The grandeur used to have three bands. Caribbean, evergreen and Casablanca. Miami has decided to remove one band leaving only two. Those two bands work hard. In the centrum they now play a lot more jazz instead of dance music to save the singers voice. Also a lot less music and longer breaks. Casablanca also left rcl and moved to another cruise line. That was there choice.

  3. I believe RCL is cutting costs and removing a band. Casablanca was very upset they did not have any day off. Usually first set did not include singer and was instrumental. They would play 45 minutes before first dinner and then DJ and then again before second seating. very disappointed because we are used to the great bands and always lots of dancers on Grandeur.

  4. Hi mike.

evergreen is not on vacation but was let go. We were on grandeur April 28 and very disappointed withe only two bands Casablanca and the caribbean band. Sets were only 30 minutes with 15 minute break, lots of dj's time in centrum. I believe Casablanca was leaving royal to go to another cruise line last week but we were told a new one would be coming. Hope so. We are sailing with you in June. Look forward to meeting you.

  5. We loved the Grandeur, especially the opportunity to dance in the centrum. We just got off the Grandeur and they only had 2 bands, one carribbean(very good) and Casablanca(also good) which is leaving after the next cruise. The grandeur used to have music from 4:45 to 11 (two of the three bands would play during the evening and one would play outside when nice. They have replaced one band (Evergreen band) with either a DJ or no music. Casablanca played every night but to rest the singer she did not sing the first set (just mellow instrumental). Also the bands used to play 45 minute sets. Now a lot of time they play 30 minutes and then rest for 15 minutes before doing the next 30 minutes. An example of a night of dancing is now 4:45 to 5:30, 7:15 to 8:00 and then 10:45 to 11:30. I hope that all ships do not follow this trend.
