  1. Anyone else experienced difficulty logging on to the NCL website?

I've been trying to download my EDOC's since Thursday.  I've called Technical Support and was told it's effecting about 35% of the users.

Obviously they're closed on weekends. I sail the 26th of November, so I realize I have a little time  but am a bit worried.

    Anyone else?

With the stock price dropping, I’m thinking of biting the bullet and finally buying stock to get the OBC for my two upcoming cruises. Does anyone have any experience with using E*trade to buy stock? This might be the easiest way to do it. Any negatives? It looks like it takes three business days to find your account, though. Hopefully the price stays low until then and goes up afterwards.

It was  E*trade with whom I first bought NCL stock with. But any brokerage company will do

  3. I signed up on the Port Valet website prior to my cruise to Alaska.  Inquired midweek or so, but NCL didn't know anything about my signup.  So I signed up a few days before arriving in Seattle with the forms provided by the ship. My bags were waiting for me in Long Beach upon arrival. Great service....I recommend ......

  4. This was my third NCL cruise. and my second time on the Encore.

I thought the food was really good. The Reuban sandwich in the Local was the bomb, as unhealthy as it was...lol

I had great bar service at every bar I visited. Which were too many.

I enjoyed all the entertainment.and shows, however i missed the comedians by some strange reason.

Had so much fun dancing up on the pool deck. Haven't danced that much in 30 years!  Sock Hop, Disco Night and a few more!

One small criticism though. Was it me, or did anyone else feel like the Sandbar gift  shop and Duty Free were less than polite? Three times I visited and every time the crew members were a little less than helpful. Even tried to over charge me for two bottles of Scotch I purchased.

My Specialty Restaurants in order of preference were:

    Onda

    Le Bistro

    Ocean Blue

    Cagney's

    Teppanyaki

Again, overall I had the best Cruise I've ever taken. Maybe owing to the 15 days. More likely the wonder people I met while aboard the Ship as well as the excursions.

  5. It's amazing, while sitting out by the pool and it's really crowded around the pool, I can get my favorite drink of the Day by giving the server a couple of $1's now and again. I hate putting down my music and book to go to the bar and stand there forever.

Of course, maybe that's why I get a little buzz going sometimes!

  6. I had almost the same scenario happen to me on my sailing in December on the Escape.  My Passport was due to expire the following April, inside the 6-month window.  I brought my certified Birth Certificate with me just in case.  When I checked in at the port, I gave the agent my Passport. She scanned it and never asked any other questions.  Upon my arrival home, I applied for my new Passport a few days later. My problem was when I wanted to initially apply for my new passport, I was outside the window to renew, and when I was inside the window it was too close to sailing date to be comfortable of getting it returned on time.

I have since applied for an expedited Passport and am waiting for it. Of course, it's taking longer than expected. BTW the States Department, for context, cashed my check on 12/27/2022.   Don't need it till April 15th, but still.

    Hope this helps.

  7. Just an update......

I mailed my request on or about December 27, 2022, and received no reply. I then emailed all my information to the shareholder benefit Department on January 10, 2023.

I happily received my benefit today.

Additionally, I did send a formed request to NCL corporate a few days ago letting them know about my dilemma. Not sure which worked, but still happy to hear back from NCL on this matter and getting this resolved.

I have to say, I think maybe some of NCL's cutbacks in staffing are hurting them. BTW, my new PCC was very helpful.

  8. When I was on the Escape during the recent World Cup, they showed several games on the huge screen TV out by the pool. Admittedly, those games as I recall were in the early afternoons.

I'm not sure if they televised any night games, as I wasn't out there.

If memory serves me correctly, CBS will be televising the game, and it Will be at night.  Hard to believe with the general interest around that game that won't be shown in THE LOCAL or O"Shehans Pup, or other bars.

I can't be of help but I just wanted to say that, even if the labels are correct, it would be very helpful to make the key words large and in different colors.  More than once I have had to step out of the shower to put my glasses on so I could figure out which was which!  And how about the manufacturers who make their conditioner bottles and shampoo bottles virtually identical or the bottles that don't have a flat top so you can't stand them upside down when they get low without them landing on your toes, lol???

Don't feel bad.....I"ve done the same thing.

  10. Did the OP use a "cruisenext certificate?  This happened to me on my last NCL cruise. I was told by the tech person that the cruisenext certificate sometimes cause this to happen.

As you get closer to sailing the money owed will go up! At least mine did. Actually, more than the cruise costed almost.

It even prevented me from printing my doc's. It will allow you to complete "check-in though.

It was a headache.....  Good luck.

I have cruised from New Orleans over 20 times. If these people in the NCL uniforms are not direct employees of NCL, they most definitely are taking instructions from NCL.

This is the point most everyone seems to ignore. Seems a bigger venue and more seats might actually help the situation.

  12. This last June I was booked into Studio cabin on the Encore. I bided on a balcony for $100x 2. It was Alaska, and I really enjoyed the Balcony a lot!  It was really nice looking at Glacier Bay while sitting on just a few steps away.,

I went to the Observation Deck to listen to the speakers and buy some pictures. I was hoping to look out the huge windows that are situated there, but of course I was thwarted by people who stand in front of the windows maybe 1 foot from them blocking the view for everyone.  Thank goodness for the Balcony.

    Go for it!

  13. OK .....

All I did was make two dinner reservation utilizing my free specialty dining options. The gratuities of course have already been billed and paid for. Actually, EVERYTHING was paid in full way before 120 days.

In addition, I should have noted, NCL finally added my $100.00 Stockholders benefit, which I believe now is the crux of the matter.

What's interesting, is that Customer service can't see what I see on both my NCL app, and my Desktop. They see that I only owe $.03. .....Go figure

I just don't want to be denied the ability to complete the "check-in" process on-line when the time comes.

Oh, by the way, I'm not a cheapskate who is trying to get out paying my bill.

  14. New charges to my "Paid in full' account.

Made dinner reservations on my phone App. yesterday, which interesting created new charges on my account that doesn't make any sense.

Have tried call NCL, but the phone doesn't even ring.

    Anyone else having same problems?
