  1. My partner and I have been on twenty-some cruises and cabin 4226 on the Miracle is our absolute favorite. The size of the cabin is great, the balcony being on the small side doesn't bother us and it is a perfect location for the things we like to do on the ship. We always sail in this cabin when on the Miracle.

To answer your question, the TV is not directly in front of the bed. It is slightly at an angle.

I hope you enjoy your cruise and I hope you enjoy cabin 4226 as much as we do.

    Aaron

Thank you for responding, I currently have 8235 I think, Premium Balcony, because I looked at configurations and thought it came closest to what I wanted, are you familiar with that class on this ship?

    • Panorama Deck (Deck 8)

    • Category Code: 9B

    • Category Name: Premium Balcony

  2. I never had the chance to post after coming back from the cruise, the ship and the room were amazing, me and my wife enjoyed every moment on the ship and the islands.

Room is absolutely private, very big, balcony is not bad at all, I thought it would be smaller, but it’s really not bad at all , I really liked it , and I will absolutely go again on the same cruise.

I uploaded some pics hope they will help someone in the future.

Any chance you are still active here? Can you lay in bed, look STRAIGHT ahead and see the TV or is it off at an angle?

I wake up at 4 am and watch tv for about an hour or two before I go out, routine.

  3. You started another thread about this, suggest you check with the membership store travel department staff that you mentioned earlier.

This is a different question, so I wanted a new thread, as I mentioned a specific cabin

Travel agents including Costco dont know where the tv is in the room, not even the cruise lines themselves know most of the time if you ask them about a specific room type and ship, I know, I have tried.

If it bothers you I have two threads, ignore them.

  4. I've not been in that room but from the photos I can find of it, the television is positioned as you say you prefer: at the foot of the bed but up on a raised shelf.

Thanks, looks like it to me also.

Appreciate your answer and attitude, I expect to be laughed at about TV, but I have this job that I never get away from and I need it.

Actually I can do it on my laptop but TV so much easier.

  5. Now that we got that out of the way.

If anyone has been in this cabin, please let me know, those 2 hours from 5-7 am will be tedious if I cant watch TV comfortably.

I also happen to watch dvd's as part of a job that has to do with the entertainment world and I am never away from work, always doing something

My main concern was position of the TV, from youtube seems as if it is as much at the foot of the bed as possible, as in I lay in bed at 5 am and watch tv for 2 hours and want to look straight ahead like at home when I am in bed watching tv, dont want to have to twist my neck or lay on my side

This cabin appears to sort of do that for me, but not sure, if anyone has been in this one and can tell me about it PLEASE do.

    Thanks!

  7. I can only comment on the Vista suite 7298. It has two tv's, one in the bedroom that is right in front of the bed but not huge, smaller flat screen.

another in the main room that is the same size, situated at a slight angle from the sofa.

ETA: You can search youtube for videos of the various suites that might give you the info you're looking for.

Thank you for your response, I will do youtube.

  8. OS...GS...VS

Are my options, my main concern, bevel it or not (i wake very early and watch TV in bed while my wife sleeps) is the type and position of the TV.

    A. are they now widescreen HI DEF tv's?

    B. can you lay in bed and look forward and watch it or is it off at an angle?

Each of these three categories I have listed are different? If so then I guess I am asking the same question 3 times, for each cabin as I have not decided which one to get yet.

    Thanks for your help!

    The OS,GS,VS comes from Costco

Wanted to edit my misspelling of believe, dont see edit button

  10. I found this

    http://www.cruise-ships.com/cruiseships/in-service/

but it doesnt have a function to jump to a specific ship...I want to review ships mainly by age, as the newer the better IMO.

I have cruised twice, both on Carnival.

I want to go on a cruise that is a bit fancier maybe? Willing to spend more, tell me why Celebrity.

I want to go Caribbean either Eastern or Southern, any ideas?

  11. fun pass

    boarding pass

    luggage tags

is the Fun pass something you have if you have bought something other than the cruise itself?

never mind, i know what fun pass is i guess

    same as boarding

anyway in Cabo and PV would we be just as good not booking events as in can we walk into town, are beaches nearby

  12. I usually wait until some day when I'm bored and then do it. We booked our upcoming cruise last month and paid in full when we booked. About two weeks later, after I had requested a room change, I checked us in and printed our fun pass and luggage tags.

  13. I travel every week for work. I'm in a hotel litterally half the year. I carry the Samsung bluetooth dongle with me so I can stream dish network from home through my phone to the tv, and I never rebook hotels I cannot do it with. I completely understand the request, and many hotels on land openly allow it. And i always put it back how it was

i use connectify to use netflix and hulu in hotels but have direct tv and wasnt sure how to use their system like you have

  14. Somehow I think that moving furniture and attaching an extension cord is different from totally changing how the electronics on a tv set functions.

If I was in a hotel on land I wouldn't do that and so I wouldn't do it at sea either.

We have been in hotels where it appeared that the tv didn't work. After playing around with it we realized that someone had changed the settings but had not returned them to their original configuration.

Hopefully you folks who do all this stuff so that your own equipment will work will have the courtesy to put things back the way you found them so the next cruiser can use it easily.

always put everything back and i am a big tipper as well

would be willing 2 pay extra to have a tv that functions the way i want...

  15. I forgot s5's come with smart remote instead of watch on. you can use smart remote in place of watch on. You'll want to practice how to set it to a tv using your home TV before you go, once you're there, and out of internet range, we can't help you. once you figure it out (which is very easy) you can do it on the ship as well... again, remember to remove the sensor from the front of the TV

    remove the sensor ???

not sure where that would be, you mean the sensor on the box that isnt the tv or on the tv itself?

    and how?

  16. OK YOU mean smart remote function which is part of my phone, it wants to know what service as in Direct tv or who, i wont know that, but it does allow for viewsonic which someone here said is their tv...hopefully i can get it to work when i get on board

found SMART REMOTE not watch on

in play store i can find watch on, do i need that AND the already on the phone SMART REMOTE?

and where is the samsung app store on the phone, i have apps in settings and play store

but no samsung ONLY app store that i can see

found it, not sure how or if i can remember where the samsung app store is but found it

  17. Looking at the pictures of the ocean suite on the Miracle, there's no reason it shouldn't work.... BUT, you'll need some knowledge.

    1) the TV is mounted high, so you want to be careful plugging it in. I cannot tell from the pictures if there's and HDMI port that you will be able to access without un mounting the TV.

    2) The TV's have an IR Blaster on the from that blocks the remote signal. They also do not give you the remote for the TV, only the remote for the set top box. You will need to remove it (velcro holds it on) and any current ANDROID phone can change the input, the Note series, LG G3, Galaxy s4 and 5 all have IR built in, you can download an app to use it as a universal remote. If you have an IPHONE, you're 3 years behind everyone else, and will need to bring a universal remote with to change the input.

in 05 and 08, I hooked up DVD players in my nephew's cabins, and they were inside rooms, on the old TV's, so you can do it. I did have to use the universal remote for the DVD player on the TV though.

So your room looked closed? Sorry, had to, I was a Radioshack Manager for 8 yearss.

    EDIT:

As you can see in the picture, the TV's have HDMI

    DSC_3880.JPG

cool, i have samsung S5, so i just look for universal remote?

installed and when i try to use it it says "change ip in settings" wouldn't know how to do that, darnit

i would even pay for one if i could get it on my phone and it worked

  18. We have been on the Miracle twice. Sorry, wont work. Hubby and Son in law are both techies and said it was a no go. Something about lack of access. Not my area of expertise but trust me if there had been a way on of them would have figured it out. Our room looked like a Radio Shack store room one afternoon.

Can I ask a big favor?

Could you ask them why, is it

    a. cant physically access the ports on the tv to plug into for some reason

    b. can access but cant change input function with remote or otherwise so as to move to other input

    c. flat screens are old or european and do NOT have hdmi ports (in which case component wiring would work and I have two players, one with component and one without)

    thanks

  19. It is my understanding that even if the TVs have the ports, the remotes don't have the capabilities to change the settings on the TV to HDMI.

That is too bad, and ridiculous.

I was going to ask the other person if the issue was that these flat screens did NOT have hdmi ports but only component, either due to how old they are or if installed in Europe.

if i bring a universal remote with me maybe i can operate the input function on the tv...wonder which brand the tv's are

    cant send pm's here?

  20. I bring my own Blu Ray Player with me everywhere I go, the one I have now has ONLY the HDMI output and not the component/rca connections.

    So

    A. can I hook up my DVD player as in do I have access to the inputs on the TV in the room (Ocean Suite I think is my category)

    B. do the TV's have HDMI inputs, I know all new ones do but some older ones may not

    thanks
