  1. Leaving on June 11, from Barcelona on the Regal Princess. Has anyone done a Covid test at the port? According to Princess website, need to take a test the day prior to boarding. We are flying on the 9th and spending the 10th sightseeing. Really don’t want to do another test at we are doing one on the 9th before flying and it’s not how I want to spend my day in Barcelona as I’ve never been their. Also, I know I can get a home test that I can do at the hotel, but not sure how reliable the connection will be and language. Princess does say they will offer complimentary testing at the ports but when I call to check on this no one seems to know what I’m talking about.

  2. I see ladies wear ridiculous shoes on ships and I wonder how they don't slip and fall..and I have seen others fall on the tile or open decks after a light rain or cleaning. High heels might be ok in most places, but for ships, I would recommend some dressy sandals or lower/wide heeled wedges. Also, women seem to think the ship doesn't rock - you will experience some motion on all ships so it's safer to wear shoes that work for that.

I bring 4 pairs of shoes on every cruise: sport sandals (Tevas) for shore excursions & embarkation day, flipflops (rubber bottomed) for the pool, dressy low heel wedges (black or silver goes with everything) and water shoes for any shore excursions that require them.

You are vacation so be comfy and bring shoes that can go with everything from a gown to your favorite jeans.

I'm right there with you on the four pairs of shoes. Keep it simple, and remember the floors around the promenade deck can be slippery.

  3. Sorry, to hear about your noise issue with Carnival. However, I was recently on Carnival's revamped Triumph. We had a nice view and the first night we heard banging that sounded like a loose chain outside our window. I reported this and Carnival was very accommodating, and offered to change my room. However, later in the day, we did not her any noise so stayed in our room. We never did hear the banging again. Carnival checked with us several times throughout the trip to make sure we were comfortable and gave us a cruise credit (which we did not ask for).

It just depends on whose at the service desk, I was on RCCL and had an issue, they advised me I could report it to the main office when we docked. Had an issue with Holland and they were not of much help until my husband went down.
