  1. Just came back on the 11th of May. We did this excursion with Oceania Cruise Line. It was a very long day-probably about 10 hours. It takes 3 hours just to get to the Valley-our bus was very nice with a bathroom and air conditioning. We visited a Farm where the farmer grew tobacco. He also made a cigar by hand-interesting. Then we went to a rum"factory" The equipment didn't work so the women just explained everything-sort of a let down. We did get a chance to sample the rum-very potent. We then went for a Cuban lunch-very good. After that we went to a place where there was a mural on the walls of the mountain-ok. It was a long trip and just ok.

Do you have photos of bus , lunch or tour that you could share please? Thank you- we are booked on this tour in Aug

  2. We went on this cruise with you! It was the second leg of a back to back for us.That's my husband in the background of your first drink at Diamond/Plat party....small world. Great cruise, great ports, would love to do this same cruise again. Loved Boston- walked the entire Freedom Trail and went in all the places on it. We would vist Boston again in a heartbeat! The rain didn't damper our fun and we saw a white squirel - very rare, good luck at Boston Bunker Hill Beacon site. Portland- fun place to walk around, had a Lobster Roll at Gilbert's, shopped, went on a 100 year old train ride and museum tour, lots of old churches, pretty waterfront. Sadly took me an hour standing in giant line in hot sun to get back on ship at Portland- seriously messed up security process at Portland. I had my friend sit on a big rock in the shade who couldn't stand that long. Apparently this is how it is EVERY time they get back on cruise ship there, things need to change. Halifax- Citedel fort and Clocktower- free for Canada's 150 year of parks Celebration. Fun place, the workers were all in period costumes. Walked the waterfront, went on couple cool old ships- again free, Old burying grounds- moss headstones, old churches, public gardens. Loved this town! Next time would love more time here- could of used the two and a half hours they took off this port day. Staints Johns- Pretty town, walked to Market Square, walked waterfront paths, walked up hills top Fort Howe and St John's big sign on the hill, went to bunch of parks, churches, old marketplace- again a wonderful place . We saw lots of historic places, churches, beautiful scenery and lighthouses galore. That afternoon we took carnival tour to Bay Of Fundy and St Martin fishing village- beautiful drive, great tour guide. We got to spend half hour taking photos at fishing village of old boats, lobster traps, covered wooden bridges. Then Bay Of Fundy sea caves, tide was in so couldn't walk out but still pretty. We brought home a bunch of Wishing rocks from the beach- they have a white line that goes all round rock, make wish, when wish comes true you give rock away. Wonderful trip!

  3. I missed the flip flops on the Serenity deck loungers, I would of been getting a worker to move them- after I snapped a photo of them. The Serenity decks were beautiful, but always packed, tried to get photo first day with no people in photos- didn't happen. We tried to get ANY seats but only found two empty clamshells one evening . Guess next trip I need to get up early one sea day . Another guy on our cruise found four guys in their thirties sleeping on loungers at 530 am one morning - they got up at four to save them for their wifes!

I don't want a chair that bad, we did find some by the pool/ movie screen on last sea day in the afternoon that we had a nice view of the sea birds soaring by.

  4. We were on this cruise. We stayed on Deck five in new rooms just behind Ocean Plaza. The toliets stopped working for us second day- no cake for us but public toliets were working on deck five.

Bonaire day- just as we were getting ready to leave room for port- power went out, halls were dark,AC went out. Then all came back on couple minutes later and we left for port. We got back from HOT HOT port of Bonaire and our AC in room was off and had been off All day, Room was HOT, took them couple hours to fix after we got back, we had to prop open door to room. The entire deck five floor rooms AC was off. Not a good day, lots of annoyed people on five including us.

Overall review of Carnival Sunshine- Loved ship, hated skinny hallways on parts of Lido, Loved Havana bar, loved our room, Room Stewart was great, hated going thru comedy club to avoid casino smoke on deck five- if you didn't go on deck five and thru smoke you had to do a maze on four . Cruise Director Emma is a sweetie- very nice!

First day at Muster Drill (on four, Station D) a poor man fainted, they propped his head up on a lifejacket on the deck.

Last day we were in main dining room , had just ordered and power went out for bout 45 minutes, somehow our fabulous waitor got us the last omelet and eggs benedict before power went out.

Deck Three was a mess trying to get off ship and thru customs because of back up due to power outage. They couldn't ding people off ship with outage.

We overall loved the ship and booked a back to back in the fall.

  5. We were on a back to back on the Dream just before drydock, they started tearing things down the night before we left, Can't wait to see your review and I hope photos! They definitely needed new carpet, to fix Big Screen TV on Lido- had alot of missing pixels. I can't wait to go on the Dream again and see all the changes. I did feel really bad for the dancers, the band and the two main singers- they all had to reapply for new positions as all of theirs were eliminated with PlayList Productions being added. I loved Deck Five on this ship!!

  6. Ok seriously . I am not stupid , I know crime can happen ANYWHERE but posted this from front of our FunTimes from last week Aug 29 2015 as an FYI to people going to Roatan soon to let them know to book something and plan BEFORE they leave home. I was on the ship,Very late night before Roatan when we saw this , at THAT point to late to do searching and find out where exaztactly this crime was happening and how close it was to monkey farm. We were NOT going to chance it and get robbed- as were MANY of the other guests . Everyone I talked to that night either did prebooked excrusion thru the ship or other tours prebooked or zipline Right outside gate to cruise area. Good heavens people JUST trying to help people going there , I am sure there are good and bad parts to Every port we have visted BUT we have NEVER seen a warning on FunTimes before!!!:cool::cool::cool::cool:

  7. We hadn't booked a excursion on board the ship because we were going to walk up hill and book a taxi to the Victor Boden Monkey and Igana farms as it was mentioned on Cruise Critics was cheaper this way. We saw this on front of Funtimes to late to book thru ship or thru Victor directly online. I just wish we had seen this before we left port, to late once we saw it. Just a FYI for anyone going to this port. We have cruised A lot and first time I have seen this on a Funtimes. We still had fun on the beach and a bunch of people I chatted to on the ship later said they changed their plans of walking over hill to hail a taxi also because of this warning.

IMPORTANT: There have been a number of reports of armed robberies and street crimes against tourists around the municipality of Santos Guardiola in the east end of the island, as well as in Palm Beach, on the north eastern side of Roatan. These areas are approx. 5 miles outside the Mahogany Bay Cruise Center. If wandering outside of Mahogany Bay, be mindful of your personal safety as you make your individual plans and take necessary precautions.

Renting a moped or scooter ashore can be dangerous. If you rent a vehicle, it is important to know local traffic law -So this is what was on our funtimes last week, needless to say we DID NOT venture out of the cruise area, we were going to go see monkeys but decided not worth getting robbed:mad::mad: We were on Valor Aug22-29 2015

  9. We are booked for Carnival Miracle Oct. 11-18th. So sad to see all the devastation this hurricane has caused to the beautiful city of Cabo.

I hope they are able to recover from this soon. I think Carnival will reroute us to another port. We have been to this port twice before and really enjoyed the people, sights and the blue, blue waters.
