  1. Splendour of Seas

    28 September 2013 sailing

Escargot on the menu all 7 nights

Scallops also on the menu (and the escargot, both listed--not just a waiter suggestion) on the formal nights.

    Ditto :)

Although I did notice the small print on the menu under the Escargot starter saying "may be temporarily unavailable due to availability". One of our table mates ordered it on the first night and when it was served all he could see was a pool of garlicky buttery sauce. I guess the little critters were temporarily unavailable on his plate :D

  2. Ship - Splendour of the Seas

    Deck - 7

    Stateroom # - 7136

    Stateroom Category – D1

Starboard or Port Side - Aft, 1 cabin in from the port side

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Mostly quiet but being at the aft of the ship you do hear the engines quite a bit. Didn't bother me at all but it's something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper or bothered by noise/vibration. To be honest the A/C was usually louder than the engines anyway!

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Wonderful view of the wake of the ship as we sailed. Had a perfect view of several of the ports as well.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Same width but much deeper than other D1 balconies

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Noticed a few random flecks of soot every now and again for most of the cruise. But we did wake up one morning with the balcony and furniture covered in soot. After the housekeeping staff did their morning cleanup it was fine.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None

Any other comments? - I would book this cabin again. Some people compalin about the distance from the elevators but after stuffing my face for a week, any additional exercise is welcomed! :)

  3. We were on COSOL Tours on March 14th and loved it! If you can, bring some apples off the ship for COSOL and his team (although, he will want to keep them all for himself LOL). It is too hot on the island to grow apples and they are very hard to come by so they will love you forever if you bring some.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day, with as much food and drink (and more drink!) as you could consume. Rum punch flowed freely at each stop. The beach in between the Pitons was fabulous for snorkeling and the views were stunning all day. Highly recommended.
