  1. I know this has been asked before, but my search here only made me a little more confused.

We need to rent a car for the day of our return cruise near the Port of Miami, but return it to FLL. Our flight doesn't leave out of FLL until after 7 pm, so we would like to enjoy a few hours on our own after getting off the ship. What is the easiest way for us to do this? Are there free shuttles leaving the port to the rental car companies? If so, what is our best option? Would it be easier for one of us to go pick up the car alone, or should we take all our bags and two kids with us? TIA!

  2. We were on the Divina this year for Easter. There seemed to be an Easter theme through the week, w/ Easter trivia for adults and some type of Easter entertainment show by the kid's club, but nothing over the top. I brought my own Easter candy and bags and that part worked out well. We were in Nassau on Easter too, and other than total tourist stops everything shut down, so my trip into town to buy lotion and some other type of sundry was a bust. The shop on the Divina actually has very nice lotions, hairsprays, etc... so it all worked out in the end.

I thought that might be the case in port. So, they didn't have an issue with you bringing candy on board for Easter? I wasn't sure what I should try, or just leave that stuff at home. I do want my youngest to have the Easter he's used to, they only believe for such a short time.

Do you remember if the ship had any tours going, or did those shut down too since everything was pretty much closed?

  3. Has anyone cruised on Easter? Just wondering what I might expect next year on Easter. I plan on bring small gifts for the Easter Bunny to leave (I know we can't bring any candy etc.), but will there be anything special for kids on board? Were there still tours to go on, or do most of the tours and shops close down? We will be in Nassau on Easter Sunday.

  4. Could you book two 7 night cruises, i.e. B2B as it's known on here? Incidentally, those cruises are being sold in Ireland as All Inclusive, even the 14 nighter. I have considered Aurea each time but it's just not worth the €600+ each for the drinks, the sundeck and a bit of flexibility in dining. I will say I would like the priority boarding etc but, hey ho! Ken

I did look into booking B2B, but the cost was more than just going with the Aurea to begin with. Wish they were booking All Inclusive state side, but that must just be a perk to make the travel from Europe more appealing. The cost between the two levels is a big difference in price, so I guess we have to decide how much those extra perks mean to us.

  5. First time cruisers on MSC. We can't decide if the extra cost from Fantastica to Aurea is worth the cost. We're planning a 15 day in March/April, so they don't offer the meal time drink package with this sailing (although they do if you only take the 7 day). Any recommendations on which way we should go? Other than the unlimited drinks, is there any other perks that should seal the deal?

  6. We really don't care about food. At first I thought you could just buy a show ticket, but looking at the website, even the least expensive show ticket includes a buffet. We would be okay with it, but then we would be stuck with lousy seats. So, we will most likely buy one of the more expensive tickets to get better seats. I am sure we can find something to eat. I tried emailing them to see if they could tell me about Entertainment coupon availability for the date we want to go, but so far no response. I guess I will have to call them . I am finding Hawaii almost as bad as Alaska when it come to emailing. Most of the sites have an email listed, but so many do not bother to respond. Gets frustrating!

I do remember e-mailing them too. It took about a week to get a reply, and then they didn't really answer my question - lol! You might be better off calling?

  7. Where could one eat before going to the Breath of LIfe evening show, if they did not eat at the PCC? I asked this once before and was told there is a McDonalds close by. Somehow I think the luau food would have to be better than McDonalds. Do you have another suggestion? The only thing I am thinking is that if we don't eat at the PCC, we are not likely to get good seats at the show.

Let me say that the OLL show is excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has the time to go while on the island! It's just that the night show at PCC is one of the best we've seen. One the drive out to the PCC, I don't recall seeing any other restaurants other than the fast food next door. They did have other snack type places at PCC, but I'm not sure if they close when the dinner meal starts (since we went to the luau) - I did talk to someone who did the prime rib dinner and like it very much (just wish we had done the same). Sorry I can't be of more help!

  8. We did the luau at PCC and OLL. If you do the whole day at PCC, I would not recommend doing the luau there (food was not as good as OLL). They do have a prime rib buffet in place of the luau, if you want to eat dinner there too.

What ever you do, don't miss the night show "HA - Breath of Life" .... it's by far the most breath taking show we saw while in Hawaii.

If you do all the activities at PCC, you will have a hard time making it to all the activities without the tour guide. If you can afford it, I would say go with the ambassador package. If it doesn't matter to you to get to all the scheduled activities then you wont need a guide, then just watch the time guide closely so you don't miss what you're interested in.
