I always bring mine. Use it only when needed so it's not up all the time. I take it off the ship for beach use and it doubles as a rain umbrella. It's small enough it fits in my suitcase.

What happened to us for our Oct. 4 sailing on FOS is, one week after final payment, they are offering senior and military rates. That is a total of $300 for two. I know the policy but called guest services anyway. All I got from the rep. was a sales pitch for drink packages, excursions and for pay dining. I'm SOL but it still hurts.

What works for us on land or sea vacations is take about 50 $1 dollar bills, no need to worry about making change. Everyone appreciates a tip, shuttle drivers, cab drivers, porters and room service. Bottom line it's your call.

My wife and I visited the base. We walked to the gate, showed or ID cards to the gate guard and went in. It is a small base, the exchange is not much bigger than a "quick stop shop" on a military base. We were told we could eat at the chow hall for a small fee. I don't remember how much but do remember it was very reasonable. I asked about walking near the ships and was told it shouldn't be a problem.

To be more clear we are in cat. BB cabin 8768. Thanks for the pic, it appears we are above a walkway or promenade. Thanks you all.

From a deck 8 balcony on Breakaway can you look directly down to the ocean? It appears on pics I have seen life boats may obstruct direct view down to ocean. Thanks

Are there any beach areas at GSC that have an all sandy bottom? We were there in 2011 and wished we had water shoes, (which I hate) rocky bottom everywhere. As I understand there have been improvements since 2011 hopefully the rocky bottom issue. Thanks

We had no problems in Phillpsburg with my SIL who is in a wheelchair. There is a long paved boardwalk that borders shops and the beach, easy pushing. The only issue was pushing the wheelchair through the sand to access the beach.
