i received one also with the correct name. When I got the card, my first thought was how nice of them to do this and my second thought was, I wonder how much it costs Regent to send these cards even tho' I appreciate the thought:)

I realize this is somewhat negative but it is what it is. My DH and I love Regent!! We've sailed on all three ships but alas, our cruises are coming to an end with Regent. They have priced themselves out of our comfort zone. Our favorite ship, believe it or not, is the little Navigator. Honestly neither one of us noticed a vibration while on ship and it wasn't until I got home and started reading CC. One posted about the vib and i'm thinking to myself, what on earth are they talking about....of course, we never felt the one on the Voyager either and we were aft on that cruise to the Baltic.
The good: We have made so many friends while on the navigator and still keep in touch thru emails. I don't know why the Navigator seems friendlier than the other 2 unless it's the smaller size and lends itself to conversing with strangers. Of course, I can't say enough great things about the friendly crew, delicious food, etc. Maybe their prices will drop so we can once again sail our favorite line but, not going to hold my breath! Happy sailing to all.....Patty

we also received our "Your invitation to Luxury". Not even going to consider a cruise due to Regent's already high cost of sailing. But we'll take a look just because Regent just might surprise us.....Whatta you think:rolleyes:

Computerworks, you really did a fantastic job of putting together a photo schematic of our favorite ship!!! It's truly hard to say why one ship is the favorite over another. I think it has a lot to with the friends you get to know and of course, the wonderful crew you become attached to on a particular ship.
We have sailed on all three ships but seem to really have an attachment to the Navigator. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to give us all a super guided tour. I hope it was fun for you as well

Does any one have an idea as to why all these itinerary changes are taking place? I can certainly understand unrest in the mid East, but why are certain ships bypassing St.P and others are not?:confused:

Good to know!
Well, welcome to Regent! Hope it is all you expect it to be and more!!! Enjoy!!!!
i always wear elastic waist slacks because the food is so outstanding and I have no will power;)

sorry, no Pepsi...On our cruise to Alaska in 2009, I was able to have our fridge stocked with diet/caffine free coke but when we cruised in 2013, in Alaska, nothing but diet coke :(
Trying to remember our Baltic cruise in 2010, i do remember it being diet/caffine free coke also. At home we are able to purchase only diet Pepsi. i have no idea why Pepsi did away with the diet/caffine free Pepsi.

Still think you're cute, Ted! haha!
Linda
I agree Linda! Some of his posts are so witty.....love that sense of humor! Ted, I do thank you for the nice remembrance :)

We had a delightful end of Aug. 2013 cruise from Vancouver to San Fran. and thoroughly enjoyed our sea days. The weather was perfect, think it sprinkled one morning, and actually a couple of days, it was so warm folks went swimming. Blankets were used on the pool deck several days also.....one never knows. You will see a lot of ice at Hubbard Glacier. The ship rotates so everyone gets a super view. Now THAT day was cold!!!!
Enjoy your cruise!! One reason we loved the sea days was visiting and meeting new friends on the pool/grill deck. We've been 3 times and could go back again:)

thanks. just found out for anyone else who needs to know that Carevacations can do it for those with cluster headaches for certain ports if you arrange it with them far enough in advance so they can move equipment to the port town if needed. I just got approved for it and am thrilled that I will indeed be able to take my cruise. :)

Hi Cheri,
Just click on his email, not the one I'm posting, (pommee45636@mypacks.net) which will open a blank letter for you to explain your circumstances and see how things turned out with the original poster. Up in the top right hand corner of the page is the word SEND. Hope this helps. It's been so long you might want to copy/paste the original plus her update to refresh Busdriver's memory. I do hope you find an answer :)

Rich, you are a master of description. I enormously enjoyed your review! Thank you for taking precious time from your days to report and particularly, find the answers I was looking for! Enjoy your next cruise....Patty

In answer to the March 22 cruise staffing question, the captain (Ubaldo Armellino) and CD (Lorraine Weimerskirch) will still be onboard then, but there will be a different restaurant manager, Marcel Karabinos (remember him from our first Regent cruise in 2010), and a different food and beverage director, Goran Rodojicic.
Rich
Rich, kudos, appreciation, and thanks for inquiring about the staffing. I know it was time consuming!!! Our last trip at the end of Aug. on the Navigator was just superior in every way so I'm going to be positive and assure myself the Caribbean will follow suit:)

Since we will be sailing on Mar 22, would you mind letting me know who the captain, CD, Restaurant Mgr, and Food/Beverage Mgr. will be on this cruise.
Thanks for checking everything out and giving us an updated report:)

I suspect "snail" is taking a looooong time to get over losing the colonies!
This has nothing to do with our British poster friend, but Ted you come up with some really good one-liners at times:) I've gotten chuckles from so many!! Keep it up;)

This is crazy, but just having gotten off the Navigator a few months ago, I never knew of nor felt a vibration aft of the ship. Every night prior to dinner, we had a couple of drinks in Galileo's. Neither I or my DH ever discussed what we didn't feel.:) Wonder why the vib affects some folks and not others....same with the Voyager. We had an aft cabin deck 10 right below LaVeranda and never felt nor heard a thing:confused:
Don't worry! You will just love your cruise and be ready to take another!!

It was with much reluctance that we booked the Navigator in Aug.2013 for our 3rd cruise to Alaska. There had been so many negative reviews concerning the ship...you name it: service, food, rough water handling, vibration, etc. We have been on the Mariner and Voyager and were anxious to cruise on the Navigator. I am so delighted we made the choice to "hang in there" and give it a go. I daresay this was one of the most enjoyable sailings we have had the pleasure to be a part of. Honestly, I can not think of one negative remark concerning this cruise. I'm of the opinion that a cruise is what you make it. We made some delightful friends and still keep in touch via email from NYC, NC, Ukraine to Australia. The food was every bit beyond excellent, the crew knew our name from day 2 and went out of their way to please. Our young Captain was very friendly and made as few interruptions over the PA system as a courtesy to the passengers.
I could go on and on but the bottom line is we have booked a cruise in Mar 2014 on the Navigator which should be proof positive of our love for this ship. Just hope some of our crew buddies haven't changed ships:(

MOST welcomed and included!!! Our winters build character - at least I hope so!
Boy, if you guys/gals don't have character at the end of the next few days, might as well give up on y'all! Just thought I'd throw that Texas "dig" in before we get our blast tomorrow.....then will we have character???

Never understood why the chairs in La Veranda are so big yet special dining area is so small…..no explanations please…just another pet peeve in trying to maneuver my way to a table!
Going to any restaurant and being seated next to a family with a crying child or getting in the shortest line at the bank which ends up taking the longest time. I must be Type-A
-
a serious but then again a not so serious thread....one we can have fun with. Thanks pingpong for starting! One of the most offensive was on our last voyage to Alaska. Thank goodness for cooler weather in this neck of the woods. We were clustered around our lifeboat. I noticed a peculiar odor and finally narrowed the scent down to a gentleman standing right beside me. No telling how long it had been since the guy had run a shower over his body. I would have gladly presented him with a gift of deodorant, if I'd had one in my purse, and coyly dropped it in his pocket. Do you really think he would know what it was for?? Oh well, I never laid eyes on him again but I pitied their poor stewards!
One of my biggest pet peeves are hoity-toity people. Who on earth wears tons of gold jewelry and makeup just to sit and visit around the pool deck/bar grill? Luckily I have only run into several of those ladies!
I'm ready to hear others' stories :D

We love the Navigator!!! The crew is outstandingly friendly and will call you by name from the first day. I have been on all three Regent ships but will admit only once on the Mariner and Voyager. We prefer the Navigator because of the size, food and service that was fantastic, entertainment extraordinary. We made many new friends which we still email and keep in touch with. I'll stop since I'm running out of adjectives but I do think you will enjoy being on this ship. We are sailing the Eastern Caribbean in March on the Navigator. I can't vouch for SS since we haven't cruised on any of their ships.
Happy sailing!!!

Wasn't this cruise around the time of the typhoon that hit the Philippines? Many of the crew are from that area and must have been worried sick about family and friends. Surely would explain some of the unusual occurrences, if I have the correct time frame.

RSS website had a 'search' box! I can enumerate several things I'd like to find out prior to sailing by just popping onto the site; for instance, a list of crew members on board the ship with interesting facts about each one, what the special entertainment will be on certain nights, special events/guests while on board. I recognize it is easier to present info in a generalized fashion but just think how neat it would be to go 'search' the particular ship one is interested in sailing and find out all sorts of interesting trivia concerning the ship. I don't mean room sizes, names of bars, restaurants, etc. Yes, Passages does cover much, if not most, but not until one is already on board. Maybe I'm totally off-base here but I certainly haven't found a search box that can direct one to find entertainers, nor crew names prior to embarking, for example.
Regent's birthday card

If you'll look back on pg.1, you will notice a "thank you and an appreciation" for the card sent. I'm just so sorry that we can't afford to sail on
Regent at this time. Times are tough; hopefully things will change!
