    Augustina, is it this place:

Legado Zapoteco Oaxacan Weavers 1313 Calle Carnaval, Mazatlan?

Yes it is!  I found it after my post on Google Maps and it may be closed.  But there seems to be a few other artistic shops near there.

  2. I love how welcoming Mazatlan is to tourists.  Last time there we found a really nice high quality store selling Oaxacan woven bedspreads among other things.  Very artistic, exceptional quality.  Very nice people also.  Can’t not remember the name (sorry!), but it was on the blue line on our left just a block or two before the central plaza.  Will be going again soon.

so do they have or  any of the hotels have " park and fly" deals? That way I can stay the night before too and free park *legally* 🙂

We stayed at Humphrey’s Hotel on Shelter Island a few years back and they had a stay and park deal then we Uber/Lyft to/from the ship.  Very close and Shelter Island has fun restaurants and beautiful view of the bay and marina.

Yes, you can use each of the 3 test kits for different people. You will each need to create your own account on the NAVICA app (download the appropriate version for your phone or tablet). When you start the test, the online proctor will need to scan the bar code on the individual test box (do not open until told to do so!) and then it will be linked to your NAVICA account for subsequent test results which you will receive almost immediately after the final step.

Thanks for this explanation.  Can you confirm that we don’t have to make a virtual appointment ahead of time? In other words after we set up NAVICA app and create our account that the proctor will be available?  Thanks for clarification, so much of this testing has involved making future appointments, wondering how this works with the NAVICA app.

Discovered I can download the MDR menu each day! All the ones that are the same for the full cruise are below, plus today's MDR (first gala night). Rudi's is a pop up a couple nights in pinnacle on this ship. I've heard Pinnacle will also do a special valentine's menu on the 14th, but I haven't seen it yet. Note the MDR daily doesn't include the other half of the menu that's the same every day.

Thanks for posting!   We like MDR lunches are those still available?

I will definitely be following and  am grateful that you will be posting during the cruise! Peggy and I will be boarding the day that you disembark! I will be interested in the quality of internet that you experience as well as any observations about the ship, lectures, entertainment, food, etc. Also, we are booked in an aft veranda on deck 8, so any observations re vibrations etc. will be eagerly read! Bon Voyage and may you experience fair winds and following seas!

Thank you for posting,  we also are on the Feb 20 sailing.  Enjoy sea and shore days looking forward to your experiences.  Here's sending you lucky thoughts.

  7. Cabo- nice and clean port shopping area. Lots of souvenirs. A pharmacy or two. Right off the pier that the tender takes you to. Walking into town a bit gets you some tiendas and tourist stores (like diamond international).

Mazatlan- More Cruise center shopping. A whole line of pharmacies. Stores are not as clean or as organized as Cabo. In the city center there’s a bizarre type market with a food section and a clothing area. More artisan type offerings. A bit crazy and some are aggressive; but manageable. A few blocks from that there’s a flower market and a seafood market. Near the cliff divers there was a little hotel district that had nicer jewelry stores, and clothing stores, but clearly geared towards tourists.

Puerto Vallarta- there’s a Walmart across the street. and a shopping mall. I did a boat excursion this day, but PV seemed to be the most urban and developed of the three ports.

    Hope this info is helpful.

San Jose del Cabo has more artisan shops, art, Oaxaca, manta, and more than the usual tourist. Its a 30 minute or more drive but lovely with old town preservation.

  8. Is it a good idea to wait to place your order in the MDR first night with the wine steward instead of say ordering from the lido display or other bar areas on embarkation day I believe the person taking the order gets a commission, and we want to support the person who will be assigned to us.
