Before making the final payment for our October trip I checked the current price and noted a 20% drop. A call to the TA, and by them to Seabourn, resulted in an onboard credit but with the advice that as we were within 90 days nothing could be done in cash terms. Timing is everything. Beware!

Just checked in Bauer L'hotel for Spirit cruise tomorrow. Fantastic two rooms with canal views. Returning guests, we warranted a bottle of the finest prosecco, not only for my wife and myself but also for our daughters. I can't comment on Cipriani (maybe when only two of us are travelling?) but this is a quality place where you get what you are paying for and it is a fitting appetiser to another Seabourn experience.

We are again staying at Bauer L'Hotel on Sunday and would recommend it. Lovely building and great location. Perhaps we can compare notes with Daneite.

It will be fine. As you will see elsewhere there are those who need to know exactly where their stateroom will be and those who are more relaxed about the whole thing.
As a family of mum, dad and two daughters we have booked guarantee and have also specified staterooms. The last two cruises we specified adjacent cabins and that was nice but this year, having a last trip on the Spirit, we have taken guarantee bookings as the saving was just too tempting to pass up and, of course, nothing is very far away on the smaller ship.

Hi Spot,
I am coming to this late as I dip into CC only when another Seabourn adventure is in the offing and my family of four are now booked on the Venice/Venice from 7 July.
Our last Seabourn was the "alternative" itinerary V/V August 2012. We used water taxi from airport to Hotel Bauer then water taxi from hotel to ship but http://www.limousinevenice.com from ship to airport. It all worked well for us and we will be doing the same this year.
Good luck

Thanks. I have spoken again to TA and have been told that OBC is all that Seabourn is offering but that we will be considered for an upgrade. The lesson remains to watch you timing.
It won't detract from our cruise whatever happens.
