  1. I was wondering if anyone has stayed in Sunshine 6343. It is an aft wrap. The balcony looks great. I had 2 concerns. First being the possibility of noise from the disco on deck 5. Did anyone experience noise being one deck up. Also, the overhang. It looks as thought there could be some shade from time to time. Or was it entirely too hot?

  2. I cruised in a Junior Suite on the Verandah deck in 2000. It was my first balcony and suite so I thought it was wonderful. I've cruised a lot since then and stayed in regular balcony rooms since then. Those balconies are larger than the junior suites. The junior suites are no bigger than a regular room. The decor is nicer, but that doesn't justify spending the extra money. There is a deck below you where people are walking and can look up, so it is really not that private. I would not book a junior suite on a Fantasy Class ship anymore. It is not worth the money. You may be happier staying in the cabin you originally booked.

  3. I am considering booking an aft cabin on the Carnival Sunshine on deck 7. Since I am going in the summer, I am concerned about there being enough of an overhang on top of us for shade. If there is not enough coverage from sun I feel I won't get the full use of the balcony. Has anyone ever stayed in any of these aft cabins on deck 7, or perhaps deck 6? Or does anyone have photos showing overhang? I once was on the Legend in 2009 in an aft on deck 8 and I swore never again as it was always too hot. Please help. Thanks.

  4. I'm fairly new to RCI and am at a loss about what to do about water. To buy bottled water the price is absolutely ridiculous. Other lines offer bottled water at a much more reasonable price.

Also I am diabetic, so I do need to have cans of coke in my cabin. I like to bring my own. How do people handle this.

The price of the water is price gouging. Please advise as I'm sailing in November.

  5. If the OBC is coming from Royal Caribbean, it's "use it or lose it". If it is from an outside source, it is sometimes refundable.

You can go to the casino and withdraw cash. They will charge a 5% fee for this.

But it's better than "leaving money on the table".

Anything that you charge on board on your SeaPass account draws down your OBC: gratuities (if you did not prepay them), purchases, specialty dinners, bar bills, excursions, etc.

    $200 disappears pretty quickly. ;)

Thanks for that info. We booked back in January and they were offering buy one get one fare 50 percent off with $200 OBC per cabin. We go on Thanksgiving Day. I was going to use it for an excursion but wanted to go to Nachi Cocum instead. Already prepaid gratuities. So I can go to casino and we will each have $100 on our ship cards. Then cash out and they take 5 percent. I can live with that.

  6. I am a seasoned cruiser, but this will only be my 3rd time on RCCL. When I booked we got a $200 OBC for the cabin. What happens if you don't use the entire credit. I know on other cruise lines you get the money back in a check on the last day of the cruise. Is RCCL the same, or if you don't use it, you lose it?

  7. I am very disappointed to hear the news and am really hoping we get a 7 night ship to replace the Legend/Pride itinerary.:(

I live a few minutes from the Port of Tampa and love cruising out of there.

I agree. I live 50 minutes from the Port of Tampa. It is so convenient. We really need another option for 7 day cruises. I don't really like the Fantasy Class ships for 7 days. Once you go on a larger ship, it is hard to go back to a smaller one, IMHO. But that is just me. Plus, I love a balcony and the smaller ships don't offer that.

  8. For anyone who has stayed in the Vista suites on deck 4 on the Legend. There is a door in the sitting area that adjoins to another cabin. Has anyone experienced noise or issues from that door? My sister was once in a cabin with an adjoining door and said "never again" as the people were up against the door and it was constantly being rattled.
