Thanks for posting this - I'm about halfway through it and although I'm enjoying seeing the ship and crew I sure wish they'd quit with the constant chatter about costs and prices.  I know that's the gist of the show, but c'mon...

Anyhow, I'm still gonna watch the rest of it when I have a few minutes.   🙂

LOL...that is exactly what my DW and I said. If they created a drinking game based on how many times they said expensive/opulent/extravagant....we would all be stumbling around!

All great points, Tom.  I cannot believe that they are not considering allowing customers to reschedule cruises at this point in time.

As a first time Regent cruiser....makes me wonder if I have made a bad choice somehow.  This is customer service 101 and as a luxury cruise line, you would ensure that they would be out in front of this.

    Just puzzling to me....

Sorry....meant to say that you would think they would ensure that they are out in front of this.  This is not a good look for Regent.  Hopefully, someone from Regent is monitoring this board and is reading the comments. One can only hope....

Again Tom...your entry is spot on!

Unfortunately I think we're out of luck as Regent Reassurance doesn't apply within 15 days.  We're 9 days out, which blows because a week ago things didn't look that bleak.  I could probably suck it up and do the mask/testing/distancing crap, but we're traveling with my in-laws who probably won't be as agreeable to the restrictions...it's almost like I'm feeling pressured to go since we've made final payment, but deep down inside I'm not happy about going - and that's a first for a Regent cruise.

    ================================================================================

Regent Reassurance was developed to provide flexibility and choice while planning a Regent Seven Seas Cruises vacation. Guests who booked an applicable voyage with Regent Reassurance and have paid in full may cancel their voyage up to 15 days* prior to departure date and receive a 100% Future Cruise Credit.

Know how you feel...I have had to cancel plans this week because of the COVID escalation and we have had these plans for months in anticipation of COVID being less prevalent. Boy, were we sorely mistaken.

BTW...I am a Regent newbie.  We have now moved our first Regent cruise out another year due to COVID and other scheduling issues.  The anticipation is killing me seeing all of the incredible posts on this board.

As you are a long time Regent customer, you might want to call and ask what can be done if anything.  At least you would be fully informed...all they can say is no I guess.

Also,  thank you for all of the effort you put into this board.  I have been following it for a long time. And as a new Regent cruiser, I have found the information very useful.  It is because of your (and others) contributions to this board that I decided to book a cruise with Regent!

  5. UUNetBill...I believe I read on another thread that Regent has reinstituted Regent Reassurance for sailings in Jan-Feb (I believe).

This could mean you would be able to reschedule if you would like.  I too am getting very tired of all of this, but I am getting more fearful of even going out. I have elderly parents I take care of and don't want to risk carrying COVID to them somehow.

I would call Regent...can't believe they would not be accommodating given the evolving COVID situation.  You cannot be the only one thinking this way.  Just my two cents.

We had a bridge group on a Seabourn cruise, not an issue at all. Not huge, maybe 50 or so. Bridge players are a quiet crowd.

Will Regent let us know if there will be a large group if we ask? Google helped me this time.

Can you tell me what sites were helpful in determining if there is a large group booked on a particular cruise?  Getting a little worried....Thanks so much!!

"Darn" - I would imagine you might be interested in the table games?  That would involve way too much intellectual labor for me!  😵  My "game" is the slots with no thinking involved..."Max Bet, Spin"...."Max Bet, Spin"...sip of scotch..."Max bet, Spin"....And it doesn't have to be one of the newer ships, either!  October 2019...Navigator...."Max bet, Spin....Bang!....$1,500!!!  Followed by 2 sips of scotch!!  🤪

LOL pingpong1!!  I am with you...my wife likes the table games.  I keep the slots (and consequently the bourbon) company. Max bet, Spin baby!

"Red Sky at Night ........."  The forecast is for a hot sunny day tomorrow 😎. Certainly a good time to be on a Regent ship 😊

The full video!  Kind of long, but some great footage of the Splendor leaving Southampton.

    Hello Everyone,

My husband and I are looking to book the November 13, 2023 7-Day Mediterranean cruise on RSSC Splendor. We love the itinerary but have a few questions as this would be our first cruise with Regent. We are looking at a Concierge E Suite vs. a F1 mainly for the larger deck and early restaurant & activity booking, but let's be real... my hubby really likes his espresso and the espresso machine is a huge plus! LOL! We would not be utilizing the pre-cruise hotel/transfer so the price difference between the F1 and E is minimal at $640. So our questions for those of you in the know are:

    1. Does the early booking advantage of the Concierge E Suite make much difference in availability in restaurants and activities? We like to eat early (6-7pm) as we are "early to bed, early to rise" people, and I wonder if we would miss out on the early speciality restaurant reservations if we did not have the early booking with the E suite. This is also a concern for the booking of our first choice excursions, as well.

    2. Where is the best Concierge E Suite location? We are contemplating suite #720 as it is closer to mid-ship, but forward with no public areas above or below (some reviews have said the more forward suites would have less movement than aft suites... is this true?) I have only cruised mid-ship (on much larger ships, Princess & Royal Caribbean) - would I notice much movement if we were in a forward cabin? #720 is a bit close to the elevator/stairs but many reviews seem to state there does not seem to be much noise near the elevator/stairs on RSSC ships (maybe because of the more mature passenger demographic on RSSC vs. the larger ships?). Should this be a concern?

    3. If my husband would prefer to be on the ocean side of the ship when in port, is there a way to know which side of the ship we should choose? Or is it just a coin toss which way the ship will dock? (The cruise departs from Rome and goes West to Barcelona, if that makes any difference).

Thank you so much in advance!

Thank you for asking these questions.  I am a first time Regent cruiser as well and am very interested in everyone's opinion on these questions.

  10. Thanks so much for posting these.  Looking forward to additional information being released.  This line look very promising.

I have had friends have not so good experiences with MSC, so I am very interested to see how this new line is received.

  11. This is precisely why I decided not to cruise until 2023.  Regent will have enough time to work out any operational kinks and, hopefully, COVID and its variants will be greatly reduced.....one can only hope.

I have no idea how I am going to last that long before sailing again.

I hope Regent does as nice a job as RCCL/Celebrity has done with their return to service protocols.

    Time will tell.

  12. So...I have booked my first Regent cruise for next year.  Absolutely can't wait to experience this cruise line for the first time as I have heard/read so many great things about it.

In searching through itineraries, I also found one we like on Silversea which is another cruise line I have not sailed on as of yet.

Could someone who has experience with both lines give me some sort of idea of the differences (positive and negative) between these two lines?  I have not found a great source of information on this.  It appears that Regent is the better value which is one of the things that attracted us in the first place.  Just want to make sure we made the right decision.

Thanks in advance for your help with this.

  14. Great review guys!! Really enjoyed it!! I think we will have to redo this cruise sometime in the future (considering the circumstances...). We loved the ship and really want to return. You showed us parts of the ship we never got to enjoy because we just didn't feel up to it. Thanks so much for the awesome job!!

    Best Regards
