I thought it was a good cruise started feeling sick the day we got off. Got checked today and I have Covid. We had 2 rooms the kids are ok. We ate in the MDR on Wednesday and the kids went to the Windjammer. I ask our server where his assistant was on Thursday and he said he was sick. I rate The MDR a 8 and the Windjammer a 6 my kids had a blast. They said this was their best cruise. We have done Disney, NCL and Carnival. If they were happy that’s all that matters.

    Good Morning,

I hope you are feeling better quickly.  I got sick and tested COVID POSTIVE on Monday too.  I asked one of the waiters, who waited on us, why he had a mask on and he said he was told to wear one because he wasn't feel well.  Thankfully my husband is testing negative so far.  Happy holidays.

  2. If there are 5 of you then you can use both of your coupons at the same time.

If all 5 go to chops either night 1 or 2 then you will only pay for 3 dinners.

You could still go both nights getting 1 free dinner each night.

Yes, we have ressies for both nights 1 and 2 for all 5 of us, so we are all set. We will use them both on Chops night two. Thank you again Ken. Smooth sailings.;)

  3. You and your wife each have one BOGO coupon.

Night one...you both go to Chops, use your coupon, you pay for one meal the other meal is free.

Night 2... You go to Jamie's or back to Chops, use his coupon, you pay for one meal the other meal is free.

I think we'll use them both at Chops, as there are five of us and it is the more expensive restaurant. ;) Thank you!

  4. I don't think so. You will each get one free meal for one paid meal as a C&A benefit (but only one per member). That benefit is used on night 1 and 2.

So that means you will get one free meal on night 1 and one free meal on night 2.

You may want to save your BOGO coupon for the 2nd day if your sailing offers "First Night Done Right" Specialty Dining for $15/person.

So if I've got this right, we each (both D plus husband and I) have only one EACH to use either first or second night. We don't have two BOGO each that we could use BOTH nights. We were note offered the "FIrst Night Done Right" option, but if we can only use them for one night it will be at Chops and not Jamies.

    Thank you again everyone.:)

  5. OP. I just finished our online check in for Harmony. It would not let me complete it without choosing a departure flight after 11:30. We have a 10:30 flight from FLL. I could have chosen to state I was driving, but I listed the next flight out to my destination which is at 11:50. We are doing self assist getting off the ship, so I'm not sure how important my departure time really matters.

I had the same issue. What RCI instructed me to do is choose taxi and put in the time you would like to disembark. Then once on board let Guest Services know about your flight information. Pray we all make our flights, as our's is 9:30, but with Harmony scheduled to dock at 6:30 we should be okay. Don't forget to download the "mobile passport" app, so you can be one step ahead when disembarking. Smooth sailing.

  6. Within 4 hours of your disembarkation, you will need to fill in the details of your cruise and your customs declaration and submit them electronically. You'll receive an e-receipt which will be scanned at CBP primary, but you must also show your passport.

Thank you, I was wondering what the "receipts" tab was for. I tried to do a dummy one and I guess I just basically just have to choose all 5 names in my party, who are on my passport app already, answer 4 or 5 questions, put in the airport and airline and I should be good to go. I guess it just helps us not have to fill out the actually paperwork. Thank you again.;)

  7. Yes, if you have already paid for your dinners, they should give you OBC for each BOGO coupon.

Thank you Bob. :) What was confusing was I read you could use them on the first OR second night. We have booked both the first and second nights for 5 people each night, so at lease we'll get an OBC for 2 each night, as both my husband and I are both D+. That's a nice OBC to use on the granddaughter's.:D Thank you again and smooth sailing.

  8. Well, you have all given me faith we'll make our 9:30 flight from getting off the Harmony. I have already downloaded the passport mobile app, we are all set there. Do you just show you phone to Custom's now? We are planning on being in group 1, so worse case we end up in FL another day. Thank you everyone.

  9. Yes that would be more for adults. I believe the hotel offers a tour that includes a tour of the wine cellar and the cigar factory which is very popular, we'll have to take that next trip if it is still offered.

Enjoy watching the girls with the Dolphins, they will have a blast!

Thank you again. I can't wait to see our granddaughter's faces when they interact with the dolphins. As an adult, I enjoyed swimming with them at Chankanaab Park in Cozumel. One time when we were in Nassau we had dinner at Fathoms in Atlantis and it was great! One of the walls in the restaurant was the aquarium. Safe travels.;)

  10. Our last visit to Nassau we just walked the town and stopped at the Graycliff hotel just to see it. I like their cigars, but we didn't take a tour of the cigar factory. The hotel is interesting and just a few blocks up the hill from the oceanfront. I've read they have the most extensive wine cellar in the Carib. So if you still had free time and were interested in staying there one day you could check it out. We also like relaxing at the British Colonial Hilton beach bar behind Senor Frogs.

Thank you, maybe the wire cellar would be of interest on another trip, without the granddaugther's. We have been to Nassau quite a few times, but we had never done the dolphins, so that is our main interest this go around with the teenager's is the dolpin swim. Thank you for your post.

  11. the waterpark at atlantis is amazing BUT yes if you are only in port a short time the waterpark would be a waste of money for sure.

If you wont be doing the waterpark then I would also look into dolphin encounters on blue lagoon island. If it were me and I wasnt going to do the waterpark as part of a combo then I would choose to go to blue lagoon for their dolphin swim.

Thanks again, I did look into the Blue Lagoon, but you could only do it thru the ship. I personally prefer to do our excursions on our own. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

  12. Nassau they may enjoy the water park at Atlantis and save the dolphins for another port OR you could do both waterpark and dolphins with Atlantis if you are in port long enough to enjoy both.

Thank you for your reply. We are sailing in on Royal's Harmony of the Seas and we will only be in port untl 1:00, so I think what we will do is swim with the dolphins at Atlantis and forego the water park. On the Harmony that have 3 water slides and 2 mat slides, which the latter 2 go down 10 decks!

Thank you again and smooth sailings.:)

  13. LOL!! We DO spend a lot of time in there!! We're too cheap to go anywhere else!! And we're too old to stay up late and go to some of the fun places. Once in while we do' date=' though!! Now if you want a good beach to go....I'll hook you up!![/size']

Jane, I love your attitude. We all do what we each enjoy, that's what cruising is about. You are just doing a wonderful review from your point of view. Keep up the great reviews. Alllure is a wonderful ship, which we have sailed on twice and enjoyed it both times. Enjoy the rest of your evening.;)

  14. I'm sure you are right Donna. Whether we make it or not depends on if my wife is business travelling that week. I sure hope we can, it seems RCI is trying a lot of new things on QOS...

By the way I love your swinging kitty!!

Thank you, I've had this kitty for awhile now. I do find many people who like it. Enjoy the rest of your evening.:)

Jane, again, thank you for sharing your cruise experience with us all.:) You did a wonderful job with your pictures as well. It is appreciated. We hope you continue to enjoy your retirement in good health. We wish you smooth sailings and hope to meet on ship some day.

I hope everyone has a great evening.;)

  15. Just want to add my thanks for this wonderful review. Congratulations on your retirement, mine is planned for 6 months from now.

I'll have to admit that I haven't sailed from New Jersey since I went on the inaugural for Freedom, mainly because that embarkation was very painful. I was happy to read that it seemed much easier for you, maybe I should try it again.

I may get an inaugural on the Quantum which I understand will be sailing from that port so I could get that chance.

thanks again for your review!!! (since you were a teacher maybe you can check my spelling)

Hello, we are doing the QOS inaugural and I think with the new terminal being completed by then the embarkation process should be much easier and less painful. Enjoy your weekend.

Woke up early and it was pouring down rain.....oh well.....what can you do?

Go get some coffee in the CL I guess. I was surprised when one other person came in and got their coffee and left. The coffee machine in the CL is one of the old ones, but it worked well and I think the coffee was better than from the new fancy machines that they have on the newer ships!

We had another fabulous breakfast this morning at 8:15 and while we were eating, the weather began clearing up!!

We finally make the decision to go to the beach!! Yay!! Janet and Gene decided to go to Hamilton.

Those of you that know me know that I seek out the very best beach possible on each island and that's where we go. I can't stand beaches that are crowded and have too many cruise passengers!! Ha! I go to the beach to relax, have lunch, adult beverages, and a quiet time. We had reservations at this resort yesterday, but since it rained, they said that we could come today instead. Good thing because this ended up being the highlight of our trip!!

I learned of this resort from one of our roll call buddies, Gail. She had been here before and was very helpful in providing the info we needed to make reservations and other arrangements.

We have been to Bermuda many times before and have always enjoyed Horseshoe Bay. But the last time we were there.....the crowds were unbearable, so I wanted to try something different and I am sure glad we did.

The name of the resort is Coco Reef. It is adjacent to Elbow Beach. They have a day pass available for $49 pp. This includes 2 chairs, an umbrella, towel, beach, pool, a wonderful two to three course meal with beer and wine. Wow!!

Luckily we met up with Gail and 3 others at the taxi stand and we were able to share a taxi out to the resort and that was very affordable. The taxi fare was $44 and we split it 6 ways. Very reasonable and much better than taking the bus. The bus stop is out on the street and there is a long walk from there to the resort......not an option for us. We arranged with the taxi driver to come back and pick us up at 3:30. Great deal!

After about a 30 minute taxi ride, we were dropped off right at the door of the resort. This is the lobby:

We checked in easily and got our towels then walked out through the restaurant area and the pool area and down to the beach area.

Again, than you for taking the time to do this wonderful review. Horseshoe Bay was one of our favorite spots, but thank you for the hint here. Beautiful photo shots as well..thank you for sharing these. I appreciate all your time you have been putting into this review. Have a wonderful weekend.:)
