Bea & hamrag Nor sure why the OP has asked the question as they have sailed YC previously

I'm the OP's wife and yes we cruised in the YC last December.  Our butler was underwhelming and we are definitely low maintenance folks but we are sailing in YC in 6 weeks and are very interested in what experiences others have had with their butlers.  We were very fortunate to get the Royal Suite on our sailing and are very excited!  Reading some of the newest reviews highlights the extra service that seems to be offered now too.  We appreciate all of the replies!

  2. Looking forward to viewing your 'scopes, Andrew! Safe travels to you and Lisa:)

Celisse, you should scope around Florida...I would certainly watch! Russ and I are thinking about doing some 'scopes from Montana...summers are just gorgeous here!

  3. Ok, it was mentioned at the beginning of this topic that they were offered 50% of Specialty dinning if they had MTD and Sky class. Can anyone verify if that was just for Day 1 or has it been offered for entire cruise?

I am currently on Allure in a crown loft suite. I didn't see any offer for 50% off specialty dining the first night. We went to Chops to make a reservation for the first night. I asked if they had any specials and he said he would give us 20% off. We ate there and it was delicious[emoji41].

  4. Not sure the prices are keeping people from the cabana's at barefoot. We're in a non-genie suite 5/15 on Allure. Reached out to the concierge yesterday. They claim only standard and hilltop are available. Now, could they be holding the OTW and beachfront back for the genie suites? Likely. Won't pay that price for OTW but we asked to be put on the wait list for the beach cabana. Even that's outrageously priced.

I also emailed the concierge today regarding our Allure cruise on 5/29. We are in a non-genie suite and I requested one of the beach cabanas. They wrote back saying that the beach cabanas weren't available but they would put me on the list and let me know closer to our sailing. I agree that they may be holding them back for the genie suites:) We shall see!

  5. That's the same hammock we bought - this is 7388's balcony on Navigator (sister ship to Voyager.) We had it for our transatlantic, and it was great since 8 sea days gave us a lot of hammock time!!!:D

Hey Judy! You and Buzz were our inspiration for the hammock! We sailed on Navigator with y'all last May :D

  6. Thanks for the review. We will be on Serenade April 4th for the second time---we love the ship! Do you recall whether they offered the beer "bucket" special - which is actually a few beers in a vinyl cooler? We have drink packages but would still like the cooler--especially by the pool. I know some ships have them, and I didn't see them last year on Serenade but maybe they have them now? Oh, and I can't wait to go to the solarium to check out Mr. Grumpy, if he is still there. It will be my goal of the day to make him smile. :D

I was on the March 7th sailing and also had the drink package. As soon as we got on board, we went straight to the pool bar and asked about the cooler bag. They had them and I paid $9.99 just for the bag. I've been wanting one for so long...last year we took 3 cruises and they didn't have them on any of those sailings:confused:

I noticed during the week that they had a table set up outside the Windjammer where they were selling the Royal glassware and also the coolers!

We just kept ours in the cabin and had our wonderful room steward fill it with ice every day. It worked better than those "ice buckets" they usually give you!

  7. Thank you Suzon the video did look amazing. I could only see a glimpse of your room but didn't see a bunk bed over the double bed. I have been worried this may feel claustrophobic even though it can be lifted up that you would feel it infringing on your space. Did you have one of these in your room?

As Crookedhalo posted, the pullman bed is part of the ceiling.....it looks like a panel when not used. If you need it, the room steward pulls it down at night and then stows it in the day when he/she makes up your room. If it's just two of you in the cabin, you'll never even know it's there :) You will just love this cabin! Enjoy your cruise!

  8. You can't go wrong with this cabin! The balcony is HUGE! We stayed in 7688 which is the exact same cabin but on the port side on the Navigator last May. Here is a video we took that shows our hammock!

    :D

Oops, I just re-read your original post and missed that you were looking for pics of the interior. Well, there is a quick shot of the inside and I can tell you that it was not a dark cabin at all!

  9. We just returned from sailing in cabin 7688 for two weeks. This is an amazing corner aft balcony! The cabin is an E-1 and sleeps 3 with a pullman bed.

Here is a video we shot of this amazing balcony!

The hammock was ordered from Amazon.com and hung with heavy duty paracord.

  10. Very cool video. Amazing the quality a Go Pro delivers. What category is that cabin and any further advice on that hammock setup?

Thank you! This cabin is an E-1. It has a pullman bed but there were only 2 of us so didn't need it. We purchased the hammock on Amazon along with some heavy duty paracord. My DH looped the cord through the openings in the structure and just tied a bunch of knots. It was very secure for the two weeks of use:)
