  1. A couple of things that we did on my recent cruise were a cabin crawl/poker run for $5 where a person in each category of ship allowed groups of us (there were 30 people total so we did groups of ten) to view their cabin and at the same time we would receive a card; there were 7 different cabins so at the end we took out 2 cards, put them in a sack and then put the 5 to make the best hand in a sealed envelope with our name on it; they were opened during the slot pull (see below) and the person with the best hand won the pot. It was a lot of fun and I must say that although the suites are nice, the aft wrap-around balcony is the prime one for me!!!

Another thing was a slot pull where 100 of us each put in $15 and had 5 pulls on a $3 minimum machine that we picked that day just in case the casino could do something to the machine in advance; we ended up with $10 each in the end but it was a ton of fun, we got a chance to talk more and get to know the other cruisers and we did have a chance at hitting it big :-)

We also had a formal meet & great in the piano bar where we paid $20 and Carnival supplied us with hors d'oeuvres, drinks and door prizes for an hour. It was a lot of fun, we had quite a bit to drink in that amount of time and pretty much everyone ended up with something as a prize; I think that there were about 30 of us for that. We also did T-shirts and had an informal M&G before leaving port.

If anyone would be interested in doing anything like this, I would be more than happy to set something up and if anyone wants to help, that would be awesome :-)

BTW, if no one has done so yet, I've set up a page on the social site that cannot be named lol, you can email me at loriac1969@yahoo.com if you would like to join (I think that it might be easier setting things up that way)

  2. Sheryl, we did a jeep tour with Cozumel Cruise Excursions last year and it was incredible! We went snorkeling, visited a little village (El Cedral) where the oldest Mayan church in Cozumel is, there is also a very old Catholic church there as well as some little shops where I picked up some great jewelry at a very reasonable price, the owners will haggle with you so don't ever pay the price it's marked. We went to an outdoor bar that was a bit like a tree house with cool swings, it was across from the water. We had the best fajitas which were included in the tour as well as sampled some AMAZING peanut butter tequila, then we drove along the coast and stopped a few places for pictures, we wanted to go to the lighthouse but there were some tidal issues or something and we couldn't go :( We finished our tour at the Casa Mission tequila factory, it's not really a factory, it's more of an exhibit of how tequila is made but the stuff they make is the best tequila I have EVER had and the guy that was giving us samples was giving me enough that I had a good buzz by the time we left lol. The tequila is pricier than the stuff you buy on the ships or at the port stores but it's SOOOOOO good! They gave our daughter a ride on a donkey while we were sampling. It was a great tour and I highly recommend it. http://cozumelcruiseexcursions.com/

  3. Hi, just booked this cruise yesterday; it will be me, my husband and our then 10-year old daughter. We wanted the 8-day following this cruise but weren't able to get off at that time :( Having been to Jamaica yet, looking forward to going back to Grand Cayman, I think that we will stay on the boat in Cozumel. We've been there a couple times and have seen all that we need to see there.
