You can also call celebrity and ask how many kids will be on your cruise.

Heading out on the Connie on Monday with DH and two sons 9 & 11. My kids had a blast in the Fun Factory on our last Celebrity cruise but Princess's was awful. Keep your review coming. The more details the better.

Any lounge chairs above the new Aqua Class cabins? It sounds like it would be a nice quiet spot to relax.

I'm loving your posts. My family and I will be on Connie in a week so this is fun to read before boarding.
I love all the detail you've included. That reminds me I'm not happy to hear about Michael's changing. The craft beer they were to have was the reason why I upgraded to the premium package for my DH. Did you ever find a bar with a decent list of craft beers or was it just a few here and there?

We are a family of four and "Modern Luxury" to us is Celebrity. We could never have a vacation for what Celebrity offers to us any other way. Airplane tickets alone to the Caribbean add another $1600 to our cost. Any All-inclusive resort is around the same price of our next cruise. $2600 for 5 nights includes everything. Plus the upgraded drink package for a family verandah cabin. That is $130 pp for great food, lodging and entertainment. I don't see any better option to get to the Caribbean and I'm surely not going on another line (I've learned my lesson.) BTW, it could have been really cheap going the inside cabin route, which we've always done before with no problem. (Special occasion this time.)
They should keep the activities by the pool and anything else with high traffic and than try some new things for variety.
Can't wait to board!

Cheapest pedicure is $68. Seriously that is ridiculous. Have the prices gone up or have I just not paid attention?
-
Oh come on! Someone's got to have it. :)

I know someone will be able to answer this quick. I thought I saved the list but I can't find it. At some point someone posted a list of drinks and prices so we would know what's available for each package. The list was so intensive it even included flavored waters from various bars. Does anyone have the link to that list?
thank you, thank you! 18 days til sailing!

Okay, so it turns out there was a $700 balance on the main cruise reservations page though when you go to the details it is paid in full. I did have to call and after a supervisor looked at it they fixed it.
Phew!

I just sent an email to my Celebrity TA so I'll keep you posted why it's not ready.

19 days til we cruise and our xpress passes are not ready. Is that normal? I did the online check in over a month ago and all of it says it is complete.

Our first family cruise was for 10 nights on Celebrity when my boys were 5 & 6. It was absolutely great. The staff was wonderful and very engaging with the kids. You'll be very happy with Celebrity.

Recorded music should always be background sound unless you're in the nightclub. Bartenders are the best for sensing what their customers want and should be able to control the volume of all entertainment in their area.

I understand with suitcase space. Luckily I was able to bring a lot of wrinkle free dresses that I just rolled up into my suitcase. The problem was my husband's size 13 shoes. He ended up wearing the same dress shoes in the evening whether he was wearing khakis or suit pants.

A sport coat is still dressing nicely. But I would appreciate the staff turning away those that are in jeans or t-shirts on formal night.
-
Since I'm getting ready to go out to dinner for me it doesn't matter if I put on a dress or shorts. It still takes the same time to dress. And since it's already paid for it makes it that much better to get dressed up and go all out. I understand some people just aren't interested in it but wow, it just makes it that much more special for me. All those nights on board with great meals and service, and I don't have to cook or clean, I'll do anything for that!
It's a luxury for me.

I was on the Mercury just before they announced it was being sold to a different subsidiary of Royal Caribbean. I thought the ship was in great shape. It's not as elegant as the S-class but it's still a wonderful ship with a great layout.

Both beaches are fun and lively with lots going on. If you want a bit more quiet just walk to the far end. I thought Great Bay has clear calm water and the sand was good. Carlisle Bay has a couple of shipwrecks in the cove. We were able to snorkel out to them but be careful there are lots of boats coming and going around them.

Thank you. We are cruising in the middle of April so I wondered if the change would occur before we leave. I just found the dates on Celebrities Spa page where they've introduced Canyon Ranch and gave information to already booked spa services.
-
I got the premium alcohol package so my husband could enjoy all the craft beers that Michaels offers. We'll be sailing the middle of April do you think they'll change Michaels by than? If so, will they offer a good beer selection at another bar?
-
Canyon Ranch is taking over the Aqua Spa in April. Do we know what this means yet? Any new spa services? Do prices change? When is the transition happening for each ship? Do you think it will effect the services for that month?

This was great for me but I hope Celebrity doesn't do it often. I truly am lucky to have 2 young laid back boys who rather hang with us than run around with lots of kids. Celebrity gives us the best of both worlds. Great dinners to dress up and spend quality time together but also have wonderful supervised activities for the kids to enjoy while my DH and I relax.

I don't remember one exceptional moment on my 10 day cruise with Princess but our 10 day Celebrity was phenomenal. From wonderful dinners, sunset drinks at the aft bar, shuffleboard after dinner with the kids on the wide promenade deck. So many great points about Celebrity. Princess was such a let down, I wanted to jump ship. The MDR food was horrible. After 3 nights we ate in the buffet for the rest of the trip. The kids club was so rude the first day the staff told us our kids would be better suited playing basketball and ping pong on their own. They were 7 and 9 at the time. That is not old enough to go around on a ship by themselves. I just wanted a half hour for them to play with other kids. For example, the dodge ball they touted at a specific time in their kids program never happened. We went down there and all they had to say was that they were closing in 30 minutes and weren't doing it. I'm an easy going person, you really have to push my buttons to get me upset. I was so, so, so, disappointed with their attitude. Celebrity kids program was far superior, organized and friendly. We still had a great family vacation but it wasn't because of Princess.

I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Florida and on to the Connie on Monday. Thank you so much for your great comments about a ship we are so excited to be on. There have been quite a few really good reviews of her in the past month and all about the things we appreciate.
Thanks again,
Kristy
