  1. I would suggest you post this on the "Australia/New Zealand" section., someone there will know. I suspect there will be a bus to/from there run by Australia Zoo. Perhaps Google "Crocodile Express", that is the name of the coach that runs between the Gold Coast and the Zoo. Taxi will be very expensive.

  2. I'm guessing you are from the USA? Australian school holidays are different there are 2 week breaks approx end April and July, and the beginning of October. That is for NSW if you are cruising out of Sydney. Other states will probably vary by a week either side and New Zealand breaks may have some impact as well

  3. I can be vaguely of help, I was on the Halloween cruise. The cruise director was Benjamin. I don't take a huge amount of notice of the CD's, I liked him in that he wasn't over the top and the announcements seemed fewer and less intrusive than on other cruises.

We didn't attend any of the shows but I recall them being billed as rock, diva's and soul. We did the late dinner seating and I did like seeing that the late show was at 10.15, a show before dinner just seems wrong to me

  4. I've not got much to add....just want to say that sucks & I'm sorry.

I'd blow that travel agent off....they stink & it sounds close to bait & switch. I wouldn't be giving them a red cent.

I'm from Australia and go and cruise in the U.S. about once a year. With a little bit of research I've always been able to price a trip cheaper doing it by myself. And most always each part as a seperate component. I find my cruise first. Then the cheapest international flight I can from my home airport to any major U.S. one. Then look at internal flights. Southwest is generally cheaper priced as they include baggage. Then look at accommodation. I book accommodation that will mean I'm in walking distance, or public transport, from what I want to see. Don't worry about proximity to either the port or the airport. You'll save more money by being closer to other things. Just because rental cars are cheap when we've been travelling for 24 hours getting in a car, in a strange city, on the "wrong" side of the road, with different road rules...yeah...my butt is happier in a taxi

  5. Patience, it's Saturday night over there :-)

I haven't cruised on the Glory but the power points will all be standard US. I always carry a couple of adapters when travelling anyway. Found the bargain of the century last time, at a camera store, US$2 each, looked flimsy, but worked fine. Pick up a power board from a store & take it on board in the packaging. I've never had an issue doing it that way. You are still going to need the adapters for plugging into the power board anyway.

  6. Sorry, knew I'd missed something....for ID in ports And forgetting back on the ship I use my passport. Without starting "that" discussion again, I carry my passport with me all the time when travelling. I have travelled though with other "aliens" who have easily used their foreign drivers license to return to the ship.

  7. I am an Australian resident, New Zealand citizen and cruise out of the USA frequently. If your boyfriend is coming from, and returning to a country that is part of the ESTA visa programme a printed copy of the ESTA visa and his passport is all that is required. According to the government website when you apply for the visa (and just use the official site, not a secondary one who will do it for you at a grossly inflated fee!) you do not need a printout of the visa, immigration obviously has this information when you enter the USA. Unfortunately the people manning checkin don't realise that the stamp in your passport, with the exit date of when you must leave the country by (90 days), means that you are already cleared to exit & enter again. The first time this system was in effect I didn't have the printout and had to get a supervisor involved, which was fine, just a waste of time. I've carried the printout ever since, and not needed it again.

I would feel comfortable with the time of your first flight IF I wasn't following it up with an international flight straight after. Don't forget the extended checkin time for a domestic flight if you are connecting to international. If your boyfriend is checking in for his international flight from the port city, I'd forgo the transfer bus and get a taxi. Check approx taxi fares anyway, every time I've priced it two people in a taxi is generally in the ball park of the transfer bus
