  1. These questions have been asked and answered sooo many times in this thread. Here's the info again: yes they have to be redeemed at guest services and no there should absolutely be no issue doing so. In 4 cruises, I've never had a problem.

You can also redeem them in the port when you check in. I've never had success redeeming them at the kiosk even though there is an option to load gift cards at those machines. It's never worked for me. A quick trip to guest services is your best bet. And yes you can use them to buy cheers or for any other Carnival related expense

I apologize for trying to get clarification on how they work and if anyone has had issues with them. But this board was titled AARP gift cards and I had not read anything specifically talking about paying for Cheers or problems with the cards. :( The way they are with the alcohol programs who knows.

  2. You can use them for cheers. I have never had a problem using these either pre-cruise or on-board. If you want to check them before you go, you can always do "Check my gift card balance" on the Carnival website.

I have never tried to use the Visa gift cards on board so I am not sure about that.

    Thank you

  3. Can these be used to pay for the cheers package? I also want to make sure I understand, you have to go to guest services to redeem the cards...has anyone ever had an issue with the cards not being validated. I know there are times I have tried to use Visa gift cards at places and they won’t work.

  4. 1 and 2 are my favorite decks and I love insides. You won't sleep the day away, but you will sleep super good with no light poking through the curtains as the ship rocks back and forth. Bring a battery powered alarm clock so you can easily see the time without having to reach for your phone in the dark and set the alarm if you're worried. Inside cabins are also awesome for afternoon naps!

I apologize if I am posting this wrong, I did not see any other place type. It looks like you have been on the Glory quite a few times. We have room 6386 booked and wondering if you have any insight on this location. Noise from the dance club and also why there are no inside state rooms is this storage?

  5. We have room 9734 booked and I have some questions for anyone who has stayed in that room. This is a large balcony, but what are the pros and cons? Being at the front of the ship, any issues? How about the balcony is it worth it? Are there any obstructions or people looking down on you? I keep going back and forth about changing to a higher room mid ship. Help Please!

  6. I don't know what the visa laws are but I would strongly suggest calling the Consulate as soon as they open. Start out by begging for their help and you would be forever indebted if they could PLEEEEAAASE...help you with getting the documents. That you are so sorry you did not know sooner, and hope you get a person with some empathy. It may cost you or it may not even be feasible. But those are the people to help you. If he doesn't go ashore does he still need them?

  7. Our first few cruises we always booked our shore excursions through the cruise line. Then like you, heard everyone talk about how much cheaper it is to book on your own. PLEASE keep this in mind. You are in foreign countries with children. If you book on your own and something happens, car or boat breaks down. Tour guide leaves you and doesn't come back, or they have mechanical problems and you miss your boat. All of a sudden 20-50 or even a $100 doesn't seem like quite a savings anymore.

  8. If you are going to Belize you may also be going to Honduras. If I were going to pick a port to stay on the ship it would be Roatan. Both ports offer about the same, but Belize seems a little safer when it comes to the port area for shopping. We went to the Mayan ruins, it was ok but mowed up like a golf course. Would not do again. If you like to snorkel, Belize has they Great Barrier Reef. Check NCLs sight again, the excursions should be there.

  9. We have been on 4 NCL cruises and one on Carnival Liberty about to do our 5th NCL. In my opinion there is no comparison. The attitude of the staff on Carnival was not very friendly and most of them did not speak English. They seemed as though it was really a chore to wait on us. They entertainment did not even compare. I will say their cabins were larger and more comfortable. The age group of the passengers on Carnival I would say was an average of 60ish, all though they did like their booze.

  10. Trying to find a quite location with room for a walker.

Does anyone know what the 3rd bed in the handicap rooms are on the Dawn? Are all of the mini suites located next to the family rooms? Is this a noise factor. Lastly has anyone ever stayed in a corner aft room?
