  1. We were a group of four touring with Quinton Bean last week and everybody thought the tour was great.  Quinton was a fine gentleman that was very knowledgable and accommodating.  I can't say enough good things about him.  $50 an hour for four people.  We didn't have to pay a deposit - just cash at the end.  It was $50 hr for 1-4 people and $70 hr for 5-7 people.  I highly recommend Quinton.  Quianreu@logic.bm    www.bermudayp.com  441-335-4689 cell phone

  2. I have found TIS to usually be a little cheaper and have more medical and evacuation coverage. Have bought from TIS on many occassions but have never had to use it. Thank God. So really can't say anything except they are wonderful to work with when purchasing but have never used them for a claim and they seem very knowledgeable.

  3. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this but here goes - I was in Sydney a couple of years ago and was told I needed to try vegemite (sp) and get some cookies at the grocery store. I didn't care for the vegemite but loved the cookies. Supposedly the cookies were well known in Australia. I can't remember the name and was hoping someone could help me out. My cousin is going to Australia and I'd love to be able to tell her about them. Maybe I'd get lucky and she'd bring some back.

I loved Australia. It is one of my favorite places..

  4. Boarded Brilliance on April 28th in Tampa with a 12 pack of cokes. No problem. I was just carrying them. My friend boarded with two boxes of wine instead of two bottles - again no problem. I would have been afraid to try the wine but figured if they took the soda's not much lost. Saw lots of people carrying those 24 packs of water. Seemed like anything goes. Of course next time they might not let anything by. Never know.

  5. I was on the Brilliance in May and on the Cabin Crawl we went into a room on deck 4 that was turned sideways. We were on the 7th floor with a balcony and I couldn't believe how much more space that sideways cabin on deck 4 had over ours. I loved our balcony though. :)

  6. I'm enjoying the report also. We were on this cruise and the one after. I saw plenty happen in the Wind Jammer even after they cracked down. The serving was so slow at times that I saw people just reach over and grab what they wanted with their hands. yuk.

There were twelve in our group and only three of us got the noro. One of the ones that got it ate all meals but one in the MDR. She had it a long time (over two weeks) after the other two in our group had it so we don't think she got it from them.

I do think that RCI was trying to keep it down. I washed my hands a million times and of course had my hands squirted another million. I've never been so clean.

Looking forward to the rest of your report. Wondering if you thought the same things that our group thought.

  7. I wrote my tour company and will post their reply. I thought it was most helpful.

It’s true that these can very in price greatly depending on quality, but if you spend about 20-25 USD you can find something of solid quality. Of course they can also be much more expensive, into the hundreds of dollars, but a practical option is to spend about 20-25 USD. This is approximately 700 - 900 RUB. There will also be some for as low as 5-10 USD, but I’d say these would be cheaply made and not very nice.

  8. Thanks for the suggestions. I had been looking on the internet and saw that there was a wide range in prices. My friend was going on this trip and had to cancel due to illness. She said the thing she really wanted was the nesting dolls for her daughters. I didn't know it was going to be so many variables when I told her I would buy them for her. I feel like the post before this one - I don't want China junk but don't want to spend a fortune either. I will check with my tour company, continue looking on the web and check out the ship gift shop. Thanks again for the suggestions. :)

  9. I looked back a few pages and didn't see this as a conversation. I'm sorry if this is a repeat. I have a friend that wants me to purchase her several stacking dolls while I'm in St. Petersburg. My question is does anybody know how much they cost? My husband would like us to only use cash in Russia so I'm trying to plan well. Thanks.

  10. Thanks so much for the information. Hearing that the window washing equipment wasn't a real eye sore and that they didn't run them around 3am sounding like a lawn mower was music to my ears. Although now I'm a little concerned about the noise from downstairs:). It will all work out and I can take a pair of ear plugs. Wouldn't it be nice if their was a thread about every ship and you could read the reviews on each room by doing a search on that thread. Wish I was knowledgeable enough to know how to start that. Thanks again for the info.

  11. The information you gave me was very helpful. I had looked for a long time this morning trying to find something on the Brilliance of the Seas and rooms but to no avail. The thread you gave me helps a lot. We have booked a b2b and were not able to get the same room for both cruises so we know we'll probably be changing rooms from what we have now - at least that's what the TA tells us. She thinks there will be a lot of switching, cancelling etc before the cruise in April. We're traveling with friends and the rooms we have now are 7050, 7138, 7548 and 7570. Thanks for your help.
