  1. We typically sail Carnival, as I find the value excellent. We even got married on the Glory in 2012. We tried NCL (EPIC) for the first time last year for a Mediterranean cruise, only because there were no Carnival ships sailing during the time we wanted to go. The ship itself was really nice, and they had great entertainment, everything else was so-so especially the food. The food was terrible. We will continue to sail Carnival because we think the value is great! We've also been on Celebrity which we enjoyed!

  2. We did not like the style of the ship photography at all. So we knew we didn't want ANY of those pictures. We also only booked a reception through Carnival & the ceremony was through Island Bliss, so its really a personal preference. We had our engagement photos done with our photographer and then practice shots on the cruise in different lighting the day before the wedding too. If you aren't a fan of the ships photography style don't feel obligated to use them, bring your own if you'd like! :)

  3. Not sure if any of these things have been listed, but hopefully they can be helpful:

    1) If you are not having an embarkation wedding your reception can be longer then 1-2 hours. We had a 3 hour reception.

    2) If you call the carnival dining department, they will let you select your seating for your friends & family. They will also decorate the tables for you, as long as you provide the decorations.

    3) You can bring a hand held steamer on the cruise (as long as it doesn't look like an iron).

    4) You can have a signature drink for your reception, they have a list of drinks or you can even come up with your own.

    5) On the Carnival Glory they had a make up artist in the salon who will do your make up as long as you bring the supplies.

    6) BIGGEST SECRET, you can bring your own photographer on board. Simply sign the photography waiver and say you are having a friend or family member take your photos. We were never questioned & we brought a professional photographer on our cruise with us to capture our day (she & her husband cruised the full week on board with us). We were able to get pictures of the rehearsal, getting ready pics, ceremony on the beach in St. Thomas, reception and dining room dinner later that night. So worth it!

  4. Sorry, I don't know all the answers to your questions but I booked our flights to Europe on Ultimate Rewards using credit card points from our Chase Sapphire Preferred card. I didn't have any issues booking and I was even able to select our seats. I've also called Air France a couple times with questions & they were super helpful. I've booked numerous things through Ultimate Rewards and haven't ever had any issues (hotels, flights).

  5. I'm not sure if this is for all ships, but at least for the Epic we booked the UDP and got the Cirque Dinner premium seating included (if you go to the show on the first night). This alone is tremendous value to us, as we were going to pay for this anyways. We also plan on eating at Cagney's a couple times.
