  1. No, but the steward "unleashed" the curtains at night so they were typically closed anyway. You'll see when you get in the room what I mean. We had the ones in the living room open a bit and never had a call.

The bathroom was the first room on the left as you came in the door (your room will be opposite directions). Light switches just inside cabin door. Inside bathroom straight ahead was jet tub, sinks to right, toilet stall far left with shower between toilet and tub. Two sets of hooks on back of door and two closer to toilet. Couple drawers on right of sink below counter with 3? shelves above sink counter. Cotton balls and qtips. Sea salts for tub. Elemis products. Loofa.

I thought if you left the living room curtains open there would not be a problem with the bridge-just the front facing window. ( I am hoping)..

  2. What's the best NON-DROWSY, hardly any side effect medication to prevent seasickness?

The reason I ask: I went on a cruise last year and had a patch (scopomaline patch) that I used behind my ear. I didn't get seasick but I was so woozy, drowsy and a bit dizzy that it was hard to keep on the go and I just felt awful (even though I made myself have a great time and keep on the go - was just so tired). Not sure if it's related but, sitting in the sun even for a little bit made me feel nauseated, I had a very dry mouth and I broke out into a rash - like I said, not sure if it's related but I've never had that happen before.

I don't want to feel like a Zombie again!

What do you recommend? I've read a little on ginger pills, but want something stronger to take just in case.

This is exactly what happened to one person in our group on our last cruise, using the patch. I felt so bad for him. I think he would have been much better sticking to over the counter meds. It has turned him off cruising.. sadly.

  3. I agree with the above. I always concidered celebrity the high end of cruise lines Ive sailed on most , if not all of the popular lines . Personally I put Celebrity no 1 , Princess no. 2 Rci no 3 , holland america no 4 . The rest are about the same . I usually watch for the best deal for any of my top 4 . These are the ones I like best . Each has its own corner and some here will like one over the other but I like these the best . Im going on RCI jan 3 rd . Got a great rate . I was on Holland america 2 months ago and on Celebrity Constilition in Jan. . This will be my 32nd cruise .I usually do 2 to 3 cruises a year . I watch for best deal for time Im ready to go more than a specfic line as long as its one of the 4 i like . CARL

I would put Holland America as no. 1.

  4. To the OP... if they find any prohibited items during their screening process:

...and your luggage is unlocked, they will remove it, leave a note & deliver the bag to your cabin.

... if your luggage is locked, you will be called down to open it for them to check and/or confiscate, then you can take your bag with you.

    Thank you!

  5. If you get caught, does it take long for them to notify you? And is there a long line in that room to get your luggage? Why don't they just take it out, and put a note in your bag, and deliever it , I wonder. Maybe that is illegal ? What I am asking is- if I get caught ( can care less), but will I have my luggage before dinner?

  6. Alliea :

I reserved a cart for this November on March 23rd via eMail to Nathan.

The charge showed up on my credit card the next day as " Smith's Gas Station - Turks Caico. "

I made a copy of the Statement and have it with my Confirmation since the correspondence was far in advance of the rental date, but plan to re-confirm a couple of weeks before we get there.

If you don't see the debit on your card in the next day or two, I would eMail Nathan with your concern.

Ohhh ok, LOL, I thought that was a place here called Smiths.. I have that on my cc also..thanks for your help!

  7. I just reserved a couple carts from Nathan for 9/8. Hope I get the 2 cart discount. I'm thinking 7:30-10:30 should be plenty of time to tour the island which will give us a couple hours at Jack's.

I reserved a golf cart for Oct...I have an email from Nathan with confirmation, but I see he has yet to run it through my credit card. I thought I read on here where he bills you right away. Would you happen to know that answer to this? Where you billed yet? Thanks!

  8. The city bus also goes there. It is the same route that goes to Totem Bight and I think it costs about a dollar, half price for seniors. You can catch the bus near the tunnel that is near the cruise docks. The visitors desk on shore can give you more details about schedules and where exactly to catch the bus.

I always find it interesting to check out local grocery and hardware stores when travelling. Seeing what they have for sale can be revealing about the local culture. Gold pans for sale in the hardware store in Skagway for instance. Walmart can be a bit more homogenous, but sometimes you just need stock up. I am guilty of this as well. Several years ago while going camping in Hawaii, the first place that we went to after we got off the plane was to Walmart :p:eek::D.

I love to go into super markets. I really can get a sense of what it is like to live there by that:) I have done this in all the different countries I have visited, and even the different states within the US. It is really a neat thing to do. Walmart is too the same no matter where you are.
