  1. We just disembarked from the celebrity reflection on February 26 and I’m wondering if anyone knows the name of the show featuring 3 very talented female singers. I believe one was from Canada. Unfortunately I didn’t keep my daily planner and I can’t find any info online. Thanks!

  2. My husband and I tested positive for Covid one day after the Ontario government stopped providing PCR testing to the general population. We ordered the RT-LAMP tests from Switch Health so we would have the documentation needed to return to Canada after our cruise…. Concerned we would still test positive on the PCR test offered by Celebrity at the end of the cruise. Our documentation from Switch Health has our full names, passport numbers, test date, test type and positive result.

We still require a negative antigen test to board the ship and I haven’t seen it mentioned before, but pharmacies in Ontario including SDM specifically ask about Covid exposure in the past 14 days… some say 90 days and if you answer yes, they will not do the travel test. We have ordered the 2 pack proctored antigen tests from Switch Health instead.

As more people recover from Covid, I sincerely hope the powers that be implement a testing and vaccine protocol that protects people and is not so costly and inconvenient.

We were supposed to go to Cancun (Dreams Jade) for march break. Cancelled last week 😞 Full refund on the hotel, credits back into our WJ travel bank, sigh. Extended the expiry of our travel bank to the end of 2023 at least lol

Did WJ automatically extend your travel bank credits? We’re thinking of canceling our cruise and booked our flights using travel bank credits which expire in Mar 2022.

CC won't let me post or quote so I'll give it one more try before I give up.

You can get a Covid 19 antibody (serology) blood test from LifeLabs ($75) which can be used for flight clearance.   This blood test detects prior infection, even if you never experienced symptoms.  I believe you still need your healthcare provider to sign the requisition to get the test.  Here's the details:

      https://www.lifelabs.com/test/covid19-antibody/#:~:text=Overview-,Overview,with SARS-CoV-2.

Unfortunately the antibody test is not an accepted test for re entry to Canada.

Also, you need to wait a minimum of 3 weeks post infection to test.

I think anyone planning on travelling needs to be pro-active. If you test positive on an at home rapid antigen test, take a picture of the test using your phone. But I think you also will have to find somewhere to get a pcr test.

Yes, I realize I need a validated PCR test to use as proof. A pic of an antigen is meaningless for any travel requirement as it proves nothing. I also recognize that I need to pay for the PCR test now as I don’t meet the new requirements for a government sponsored test. My question really was if anyone had encountered any issues in using the previously positive PCR test for entry into Canada.

  6. According to travel.gc.ca proof of a positive PCR test taken 10-180 before travel can be used to enter Canada. We are scheduled to leave Jan 22 for a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale and my concern is that I’m currently recovering from Covid despite being fully vaccinated including a booster. I will be well past the isolation period by then but I’m worried about still testing positive on the required PCR test to return to Canada. I’ve read that because of its sensitivity, some people continue to test positive weeks or even months after they’ve recovered and are no longer able to transmit the virus. Has anyone used the proof of a previous positive PCR test to enter Canada? Can it also be used instead of the negative antigen test to enter the US? I’m confident the antigen test would be negative but wondering if I can use the proof of a previous positive PCR for both. Here’s to a better 2022 for everyone!

Sorry for the slow response. My partner and I both had positive PCR tests on Tuesday, and we were supposed to fly down on January 1 (Saturday), which means we wouldn't be able to produce a negative antigen test. Plus, our positive PCR tests needs to be at least 14 days old before we could use that to re-enter Canada. Way too many hurdles.

It's a good thing we canceled because today is Thursday and we still have pretty intense cold-like symptoms (stuffy nose, coughing, mild fever, body ached, fatigue). I'm surprised Covid has hit me this hard considering I've been boosted!

I hope those that do make it onboard have a good time. We're looking forward to rebooking when it's somewhat back to normal. This is now our second cancelled cruise and we don't want to be crushed for a third time by booking too soon.

I hope you’re feeling better! I just tested positive after receiving my third shot 10 days ago. I’ve had a scratchy throat, slight headache and a really deep blues voice lol. Already improving and I’m sure I would’ve felt much worse without the vaccines. We’re scheduled to sail Jan 23 on the Edge and pretty sure we’re going to cancel. I’m concerned about flight cancellations. We used WestJet travel bank credits to book our flights which were set to expire in March 2022. Does anyone know if they reset from the day I cancel this time or back to the original expiry date?

  8. Yes, I realize the service is contracted out. Nonetheless, Celebrity is ultimately responsible for ensuring they can deliver what they're advertising. Several announcements were made over the week, advising passengers to purchase the transfers as there would be 2-3 hour waits for taxis, etc.

We do not normally purchase Celebrity transfers but we did this time because they were leaving people with the impression that they would ensure we would avoid the delays with the transfer.

No Celebrity reps at the terminal, no one there to explain or apologize for the delays.

I agree it was not intentional, but we certainly felt mislead.

And thank you for your legal definition of scammed.

  9. We...along with many others, waited over an hour and a half in line at the Vancouver cruise terminal to board the buses. Not enough buses and it was chaos! Many people missed their flights. We arrived at the airport for a 1:15pm flight with only 15 minutes to boarding!

We paid the $30 each just to avoid this type of mess and feel like we were scammed by Celebrity. Not a great way to end an otherwise enjoyable holiday.

  10. As long as people have clothes on in the dining room, I'm not offended by what people wear. I wear a dress to dinner most nights because I want to, but if the guy at the table next to me wore a ball cap and t-shirt, I'd still enjoy my steak. Now if the guy wasn't wearing deodorant....that would affect my enjoyment!

  11. While standing in line at guest services, I overheard a gentlemen questioning why his phone wasn't working on the ship as it worked perfectly fine when we left port in Orlando. The young woman politely reminded him that we departed from Miami, to which he replied "No, I know it was working when the ship left Orlando." I'm sure understanding the need to purchase an internet package was going to be a challenge for this gentleman who obviously didn't have a good grasp of geography.

  12. My heart goes out to that poor family. People do get into vacation mode and perhaps take risks they wouldn't normally take at home.

We're leaving in 2 weeks for a cruise with an infant and a toddler. Very inconvenient to bring 2 car seats with us, but we are because we're not putting our grandkids in a taxi in Cozumel unrestrained.

Sure, it's only 1 ride but that's all it takes, at home or on vacation.

  13. We just returned from a cruise on the Reflection and celebrated my husbands birthday onboard. I purchased a behind the scenes tour for him that included a tour of the bridge, engine control room, backstage theatre, galley, provisions area, etc. At the end of the tour there is a lunch included at a speciality restaurant with officers. I joined him on the tour and found it fascinating. It takes approximately 4-5 hours and is held on the last sea day. Very small group, 14 of us. Cost was $150pp

  14. Even if you have to pay a bit more than a ship transfer, RomeCabs is worth it in my opinion. We booked transfers with them airport to hotel, hotel to port and port to airport. They were very visible holding a sign with our name at the airport and cruiseport.....something you really appreciate after a long day of travelling!

Very well dressed, courteous drivers and a clean Mercedes to travel to our destination. Much better than sitting on a bus waiting for 40 other people to get on!
