  1. I went last year and also going again next year. I love the jewel. Is there something in particular you are wondering?

    1. What are some good places to hang out and watch the ocean? (some place relatively quiet)

    2. What sort of musical venues did they have? What kind of music?

    3. What on board activities did they offer that you particularly appreciated?

    Thank you! :D

  2. Hi all:

I am looking for some information on the ship, Norwegian Jewel. I would like to find out about their daily activities, the layout etc. My parents will be on the boat---It would be great to have some inside information to help them since this is "like" their first cruise.

If anyone has sailed this boat or this particular itinerary, I would really, really, appreciate information.

I personally have sailed Norwegian Sun, but that's not much help.

    Thank you!

  3. I've looked on the boards, and I have not seen a lot about Norwegian Jewel.

I booked a cruise for my folks, and I know nothing about the ship. So if any of you have sailed her, I would love to hear from you. Answer any or all of the questions.

    1) What sort of entertainment does Jewel have? Is there classical musical venues, like the Sun?

    2) What is a good place to view the scenery if you do not have a balcony?

    3) What is the most quiet place to eat?

    4) What is something you liked about the ship?

Thank you! I'm looking forward to hearing about it. :D

  4. If you are expecting a train, check your ticket very carefully. Last year, we unwittingly bought a bus ticket to Vancouver. It was fine, but I would have rather taken the train. They did state on the ticket that it was a bus, but I was being dense.

4 hours you could take the metro up to Pikes Place and shops up there. Vancouver is an awesome town. Do not underestimate Vancouver! We are planning a trip back just to see it. :)

  5. Here are my 2 formal dresses from my last cruise. I decided to wear two floor length dresses...

Those are so pretty! And you are beautiful too! I too think it's fun to dress up.

I found that not many people were wearing floor length dresses, but I didn't really care. I always seize the opportunity on cruises to wear my floor length gowns, as they just sit in my closet collecting dust the other 364 days out of the year :P

I think the dresses are beautiful and the girl in them is also gorgeous!

I enjoy dressing up too. Kudos to you :D

  6. I've been on four cruises. Only ONE was with DH.

Two were "girls cruises" with my best buds.

    One was with my sisters.

I love DH, but there is nothing more FUN than a bunch of giggly women!

Seems like girls appreciate some of the things that guys don't, like having dinners ready for them, being waited on, asked if they want a drink, or having their beds made qlthough My husband certainly isn't "waited" on guy.

My DF went on a cruise once, and he totally didn't like it. I'm sure my dm did, but she has made him breakfast, lunch, and dinner for decades. He didn't really see why people liked cruising.

Anyway, I already booked the cruise, so dh is going to have to adjust :D

  7. I think it just depends on the dynamic of your relationship. Many couples are very happy and very happy to do things indepenently. I just wouldn't be happy going anywhere without DH. I would just miss him too much. If you feel certain that you could go and have a good time, then there's nothing wrong with that. Just ask yourself if you would be ok if the tables were turned and he was going without you. As long as he doesn't mind and you are able to enjoy the trip, go for it. This is a question that only you can answer based on your relationship.

This is a good question. I wouldn't mind although I can't see him wanting to go without me. I've always loved doing things by myself. But you make an excellent point.

  8. Hi,

This will be the third cruise I've taken. The last two my husband and I went on. This next one will be with my daughters and their friend. I guess I really want to enjoy cruising with my daughters (just the girls)

I guess I'm feeling a little guilty. How many of you girls would or have taken a cruise without your spouse?

How many of you guys would mind your spouses taking one "solo" with friends or family?

  9. I found a "cruise mascot" because I saw how much fun Lambie was having with hers. That's what cruising is all about, isn't it? FUN on the Fun Ship? Mingo has accompanied me on at least 10 cruises, so that would make her Platinum now, wouldn't it? :D One of Mingo's main functions is to aid other CC members in finding me on embarkation day. Who can miss that flamboyant character? I, on the other hand, am very low key and shy. Mingo is an ice breaker for me. She's fun. And for those who say she would be a bother to you to have to carry her around.... Um, did I ever ask you to carry her for me?

I'd hold her for you (if you needed to fill your plate) or something. :D
