  1. What does this mean? Did everyone in Group 1 get a pass? Where were you in the 60 (i.e. how many priority passengers got in front of you)?

We were in group one for boarding. You then need to race everyone up the ramp, down the stairs and over to Headliners. Not everyone in the boarding group is trying for Vibe passes though. We got numbers 46/47. All members of your party must be present before the will hand you the passes. They cut off at about 60 passes on this trip.

  2. We were on this cruise and in Vibe with you. Pat and Kerry. For us Vibe is all about being able to relax in quiet. Yes it gets hot and windy some days, but we feel it is worth it. We loved the camaraderie of everyone there as well and it was nice to see them outside Vibe and know someone. The whole trip was fantastic. Loads of places to get lost and wander and everyone was great. My only disappointment is how La Cucina and Cagney are now A La Carte. We were with a large group who likes to eat specialty, however we would have been very happy at the Manhattan Room as the food is very good there. Can't wait to hear the rest of your review.

  3. A group of 10 adults are going on the Escape in a few weeks and our intention was to get to the port as early as possible and run to get Vibe passes. I was very annoyed to hear about the change in the boarding process both because it limits our chances for the Vibe and because we will have to wait longer on shore rather than the ship. So my question is, "do we have any chance of getting the Vibe or should we just get to the port later?"

what "change in the boarding process" ??

  4. Just did mine last night at the 80 or so day mark and I ran into the same issue. I was able to book after midnight easily, but it wouldn't let me checkout with brat pack(kept emptying the cart). I waited and later received the confirmation email that stated i was booked for 2 showings of brat pack and the after midnight showing. So the cart was definitely working, even though it said it didn't. I had to call and cancel my second booking of brat pack because i couldn't do it online.
we are sailing the Western Carib in June. Any idea what days / times the shows are on ??
  5. We are just off the 11 night trip to Southern Caribbean and I must say I was terribly disappointed in the cruise. The Ship had a horrible mold smell on Deck 9 Port side aft and in fact we had to deal with huge blowers on the floor for 9 of the 11 nights.

I agree casino was very smoky but compared to mold smell it wasn't that bad throughout the ship.

The food however in the MDR was not at all up to par this trip. We made several complaints to the staff. In fact we had to upgrade to the 5 night plan for specialty restaurants from the 3 we had planned. Lack of variation in the Windjammer at lunch was also an issue.

The ship was set to go Transatlantic after our sailing and we had all new crew on board which I think led to some of the problems. It does need a new overhaul and I agree the Solarium gets hot when the top is closed. They close it while at sea to help with fuel consumption we were told.

As mentioned by someone else, each line, restaurant, entertainment is subjective. For my part we have decided that after years of sailing RCI we are done. The decline in service and food and entertainment on the smaller ships is the deal breaker.

  6. We have a cruise booked in Sept but after that - leaving Royal. The prices are just outlandish. We are going to try NCL again, and I enjoyed the Princess cruise we took in Europe so we will try them again also. The price for the cruise itself, coupled with the mediocre food (at best), and now the drink prices being raised 40% >> no more RCI. You have lost our business RCI. And note that we usually cruise with 8 couples and sometimes their kids. We have gone with groups of 25-30 a couple of times. RCI may not miss us, but be assured we will NOT miss them either !

  7. Been thinking about an Alaska cruise in 2016, and have been waiting for what seems like an age for RC to release their itinerary, and now they have.

What a disappointment the prices are though. A balcony at a reasonable time of year comes out at about £4000 (cruise only). By contrast a similar cruise on Celebrity is just over £2000.

We've got a couple of RC Next Cruise Certificates to use, but we won't be using them in Alaska!

Is anyone else surprised at RC's pricing?

I thought the prices were quite steep also. We are looking to book but have decided to wait and see if the prices take a tumble later in the year.

  8. Thank you for the replies. Usually for dinner my guys, I put in a polo and slacks and for the formal/semi formal nights dress shirts and ties. Dress for me and the girl those nights and skirt/top for other nights. We do not mind dressing up, just wanted to check. Is it a Capt.'s dinner?

Sorry, replying from my phone and it double posted... Errr.... Technology!

just a jacket is more than enough.
