@HappyTravels4ever $20,000 is quite the cruise and I envy the experience you are about to have.

My question is, would you still take the same cruise if you got nothing from your TA except the booking and service?  If so, then here is the strategy I would suggest.

    1. Choose the Cruise/Brand:  Select the date, time, brand and suite category.
    2. Select the best credit card you have with the very best perks for cruises. Make sure when and if you book, who ever you use, at absolute minimum give you those perks.
    3. Select a T/A first on quality of service and then on special perks if you choose to go down that path.

The T/A is the last selection because it is also the hardest.  Do you want direct control of your reservation, choose the brand and lose the credit card perks.  Do you want the cheapest ticket than consider third party booking sides that offer great discount with low service.  Or do you want the best perks, and service that would be T/A but always remember.  The more discounts, you have to ask yourself, how much of the service would be discounted as wall.  Just my two cents.

Cruise well and enjoy every moment.

    All valid considerations! Thank you.

  2. Looking forward to our first Regent cruise later this year!

    1) when can excursions be booked? And does the date depend on type of cabin?

    2) Same question for specialty restaurants - how do this reservations work?  Is there a limit on the # of reservations one can make?

    3) regarding airfare, is it allowed to fly in to departure port a week in advance or is there some kind of fee for that?

Any other tips for first-timers?  Regent sounds delightful - we are big fans of Oceania so looking forward to the new adventure!

From the main Categories list, find the ROLL CALLS section. Locate the cruise line and click on the link. Then click on the ship link. All roll calls for the ship are listed there. On a pc you can then use Search to help find a particular voyage.

Many thanks!  Now I see that clicking on the name of the ship ABOVE the link for the current roll calls will allow me to go back in history along with various other queries. THANK YOU!

We had a horizon suite on 7 on the Mariner. I do not recall an issue of privacy from our deck from above. From the sides we could see our neighbor. Those are incredible suites I would sail again in a heartbeat. We had a corner suite with a full living/dining area separate bedroom. Only odd thing was accessing the bath your walked through the walk in closet.

Having sailed on Princess I recall looking down into the verandahs from mine.

I hope you see this!  I know your cruise was three years ago -- wondering two things....1) was there much vibration in the back?  2) Was there noise from the horizon lounge -- music??????

  5. When onboard the Equinox TA crossing this month, we were told we could book a November 2017 TA. As the computers did not have the ability to confirm the booking, or something like that, they said we could get extra perks as long as we booked by 11/30 with our travel agent. This was all very odd because we actually chose a cabin and got a reservation number, but it is still not a done deal. We did the $200 deposit a well.

Does anyone know any more about this? Can't find any specifics online and when I spoke to a Celebrity rep, they didn't know what I was talking about!

We only have until November 30 or we lose the strategy perks (free gratuities).

    Thanks in advance! Debbie
