For those still waiting for refunds, I received all of my refunds today.  Cruise was for 03/15/20 and canceled on 3/13/20. I requested the refund online on 03/14/20.   I was told the funds were approved back to my credit card on 04/19/20.  They were sent in multiple credits to two different credit cards.  Adding all of them up added to the correct amount.  

Thank you for all the advice. I will ask my agent and see what she says. Maybe it's refundable and that's why I couldn't use it. Just wish carnival was able to explain because they had no idea.

I had never heard of this either so that is why I'm trying to get recent cruisers experiences. It seems like it's still confusing on what carnivals policy is on this.

On the my last cruise aboard the carnival dream I had on board credit from my travel agent. I had planned to use this towards gratuities like I have done on other cruise lines. However to my surprise, the on board credit was not being used up unless I made a purchase. When I asked about this on board, I was told that you cannot use on board credit from travel agents towards gratuities. The agent seemed confused about this but ultimately this was the final answer I was given. I found this to be odd but was forced to make purchases just to avoid losing the credit. Is this a new carnival policy that anyone is aware of? Have you recently been able to use on board credit from travel agents towards gratuity? I don't want to be caught off guard for my next cruise. I looked on carnivals prohibited and restricted items list and did not see either item listed. So I guess I am fine there. However I am unsure if the island itself prohibits such items. Does anyone know?

I am traveling this summer to belize with my family which includes 5 kids (2 of them under 1 year old). I would like to visit goff's caye but am concerned about the lack of shade for the kids especially the infants. Do you think I would be allowed to bring either a pop up tent or an umbrella to shield the little ones from the sun? Can anyone recall ever seeing anybody use any of these items for shade? Any other ideas? I tried to search the forums but do not see anyone ever getting this answered. Thank you for your responses.
