All in all....this cruise was great....we had great weather all 7 days....Pearl is now headed to Miami via the Panama Canal...wish we were going....that said...I have a couple of smacks for the ship. On a cruise, I have always had a NORMAL SHRIMP COCKTAIL. NOT ON PEARL....ridiculous. We boarded in Seattle and had to get off in Vancouver...and take the train back to Seattle. When we got back to the port in Seattle...there sat Pearl. How stupid it is that Pearl did not suggest an 8th day stay...it would have been better for us to stay on the ship one more day. Now the big smack...the Pearl Debarkation in Vancouver was the worst I have ever had to deal with...basically..they blew it...long lines...people staying on the ship interfering with Debarkation with the help of staff, etc...oh Captain my Captain that mess is on you...shame...shame...
One note...hi Tom and Carol..we had fun and I told you we would see you again...that was hysterical...

I am reading that Princess no longer supplies shampoo or conditioner. First, is that true? If it is true, can you carry shampoo on or does it have to be packed? We sail Tuesday....

We are sailing on Emerald Princess January 28 and are curious about the cruise and its ports. Would any recent cruisers care to share on their experience...?
Is Sabatini's really good? How are the main dining rooms? How were the shows? What SHOULD we do? What SHOULD we avoid? Any issues with...St Lucia....St Kitts....Antigua...Barbados? We've been to St Thomas.
On Princess Cay...how were the adult cabanas?

I had lots of second thoughts about doing this cruise because of costs and locations. Boy was I wrong. This cruise, a trip of a lifetime was amazing. In the last days of the cruise, The Captain said that in his 12 years going to Alaska, this was the first cruise that was sunny in all locations. My wife and I did this cruise with her daughter and son-in-law...we had a ball. We did a whale watch thru Harv and Marv out of Juneau, The White Pass and Yukon Train out of Skagway, Glacier Bay on the ship, and a fly in to Misty Fjords...we had perfect weather. We stayed in Cabin 9579, an inside cabin and it was great. Our Steward was Anna S. Wonderful lady, hard worker. The ship has lots of wonderful things to do and has a dedicated crew. While it is easy to understand that Alaska is beautiful, no words can accurately describe the amazing vastness that is Alaska...GREAT TRIP ALL SHOULD GO.
The feeling that most overwhelms is that for all that area, there is very little population...it is beautiful...but relatively few people who get to appreciate it...We are glad we did.
Now for the Zings...
1. NO SHRIMP COCKTAILS...what is up with that Norwegian.
2. The disembarkation process was a disaster...They fell well behind and cost us valuable time to explore Vancouver....terrible.
