We did this from Freedom of the Seas too. Rental car, super easy, least expensive option. Having the rental car will give you options to stop at the store, eat etc. It's a very easy drive.

Do you know much about snorkeling in general in Nassau? We have snorkeled at many top notch spots and will be in Nassau on Oasis in November. I'm wondering if we would be better skipping snorkeling in Nassau. I know you can't speak for the weather, but I have not found a lot of snorkeling that wows me. Not interested at all in a large group, we usually find something private for an small group.

Thanks Shirley I did drop avis an email but it was late Sat. afternoon. I'm sure I'll hear something this week. It would be great if they'll meet the rate and confirm MY car will be there waiting. Either way I'll call and double check with the local office. Thanks for the tips.

Just read through the whole thing and still have one question--Is the shuttle from the pier to Thirfty Car rental free? Is it convenient? I see that Avis has a free shuttle but their rates are double! Thanks

Thanks for all of this great information. We have a few days post cruise in Cocoa Beach/ Cape area. We get off our cruise on Sunday May 30th and have a rental car. Staying at Country Inn and Suites. Is there anything special going on for the long weekend that a family should see? We will have most of Sunday after debarkation. Monday we plan to visit KSC, then we have several hours in the morning of June 1st before we head off to the airport then home. We are a family of 4 - with 2 girls ages 7 and 9 who are great swimmers, animal lovers etc. Thanks
