  1. If you could share the communication you received and what your tier level is, it would be beneficial for others on the forum to be able to tell if this is different than the standard boarding time communication.

Like others have stated, there is a standard communication that has been sent out regarding boarding times. However i have never seem them enforce this and the communication also states that if you are certain tier levels it does not apply.

Please share the information you received.

FYI See below BobbieJohn is on Deck 4. dnz4life is on Deck 2

Grandeur of the Seas: October 31 Check-In Information

Please click here to acknowledge receipt of this message

This is an important message regarding your upcoming cruise.

Hello, this is Royal Caribbean International. We are contacting you with important information regarding your upcoming sailing on Grandeur of the Seas from Baltimore on October 31.

We, at Royal Caribbean International, want your vacation to get off on a wonderful start and in order to facilitate your check-in process, suggest that you arrive at the cruise terminal according to the following designated times. This will help ensure a smooth embarkation experience so that you can begin your vacation as soon as possible:

    Deck 8: 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM

    Deck 7: 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM

    Deck 4: 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM

    Deck 3: 1:45 PM – 2:30 PM

    Deck 2: 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM

In order to prepare for the check-in process at Baltimore we kindly ask you to check in online at http://www.royalcaribbean.com/onlinecheckin if you have not done so already.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard!

  2. Yes I agree. I seriously doubt that Patti would do that, and you are correct that this change has been in the wind for quite a while. I called Royal Caribbean to speak with them about this possible change, I called multiple times talking to agents in different call centers, as far away as Central America. I also spoke with C&A, and all said they were aware of the rumors, and (drum roll please) "Categorically Deny" that there is even any consideration of making a change. So with that being said, and we all know how their information is not always correct, I guess we can expect.....?

In my experience RCI and C&A have always Denied Rumors until they are confirmed in writing. The same thing has happened at work.

  3. I attended the Captains Corner talk this morning. Captain elaborated that the engine issue was due to a leak in the engine oil heat exchanger. The problem would be repaired en route during return to Baltimore and would not impact the 3/30 sailing.

For my trouble and the rest of my fellow passengers, we were all given a 20% cruise fare refund applied to our on board account. Any remaining credit at the end of the sailing would be refunded to our credit card on file.

We are on the April 9 sailing and hope that everything is ok for that sailing!

  4. I've saved the dailies for the 12 Night Golden Light Alaska Cruise.

The weather could have been more favorable but shipboard life was as expected on a Celebrity ship. If you have any questions, please post them. A number of Cruise Critic members were onboard as well and I'm sure our experiences will vary as they always do.

Arno, Thank you so much for posting the Celebrity Today dailies for the Infinity. Today we just read that we will be on the October 5 Infinity cruise and it will be the last cruise before drydock! Hopefully we will not encounter venues being closed, etc.

  5. Hi Cruisestitch,

How are you ? I hope all is well !

There's a travel agency charter from October 15th - 25th. Not sure what the ship is doing for the 4 nights from the 25th, until the 29th, when her schedule then shows a 7 night sailing from Port Everglades. Maybe Celebrity will add a 4 night sailing, or perhaps there's another charter.

    Hope this helps !

    Thank you, Andy!

  6. I also enjoyed the extras offered in the CL on Oasis Class. The hot breakfast and lunch with wine and beer are not on the list of D+ perks nor were they offered on other class of ships. Now that extra offering (nice as it was) has disappeared off Oasis. I understand the disappointment, but it was always an extra, not a promised perk. Even if the room were still called the CL, that extra could have been discontinued at any time without any notice.

BTW, on one Allure cruise, the CL breakfast waiter messed up my orders each time. He seemed to just randomly bring whatever he wished. he seemed surprised when I hit my limited and asked for the food I actually ordered!

It is unfortunate that the waiter messed up your orders. That was not the case on our Allure cruise. The food and service in the CL was wonderful. We are still disappointed that the Breakfast and Lunches in the CL have been eliminated.

  7. They may miss the made to order breakfast and lunch that has been eliminated from that venue.

    BINGO and DITTO!

We are recently Diamond Plus and the made to order breakfast and lunch with wine and beer now being eliminated is why we are disappointed. We just got that very nice perk and now it is gone already. Our disappointment has nothing to do with Diamond and Diamond Plus being together in the same lounge. We have made many Diamond, Gold Platinum, Emerald, Diamond Plus, and Pinnacle friends.

  8. Hi Fran.....how are you doing? Email me sometime. Eva has it. I don't have your email. Lost some emails with a computer break down.

I am going to follow along here too, but won't be sailing the Quantum. Just want to see what it is all about. Maybe someday, we will sail the Anthem. Prices have to drop quite a bit for us to book though.

Should be a great review with all these people posting pictures and thoughts on the new Quantum. We will be cruising Nov. 1 on the Grandeur, so will have to catch up on this review when we return. It will probably take me months to catch up from that point.

To the OP/OPs. Thanks so much for doing this. Should be a very active thread. Look how far it has come so far. And the ship isn't even here in the states yet.:p;)

    Gwen :)

Hi Gwen, How are you? Just found this thread. We will be on the Dec 1 saiiling of the Quantum along with Fran. But we have the Allure of the Seas first on Nov 2. Have fun on the Grandeur!

  9. Not a "dumb question" at all.

As Diamond on Royal you will be Elite on Celebrity.

As for what perks to expect, just look here: Elite Member Benefits

    Hope you feel better.

You will need to contact RCCL Crown and Anchor and get Captain's club numbers. The reciprocal benefits are not automatic.

Oh, I see Linda/Happy Cruiser beat me to the punch!

  10. Just received our D+ luggage tags in the mail. Just in time for our March cruise. Not really impressive. I thought they might at least have our names on them. I guess it is better than nothing. I will just put them on along with our other tags.

    Gwen :)

Gwen, We got off the Enchantment 2 weeks ago and we are also now Diamond Plus. We have no cruises booked right now. Still having trouble with my knee. dr thinks I may have scar tissue and gave me more exercises to do several times a day. I see him agin in 6 months.

Where is your March cruise going?
