We cruised Rhapsody in 2004 and 2007 when in cruised out of Galveston to the Western Caribbean before it was renovated. It didn't have any specialty restaurants. Don't know about now

Freedom when we sailed to the Eastern Caribbean

Would never try Lobster, Oysters, Mushrooms or calamari
But I love pan fried liver and onions with brown gravy, and battered fried gizzards, spinach, brusseld sprouts,

Eating in the dining room for breakfast and lunch is the best with hot and fresh food. Always sit with different folks and get to carry friendly conversations.
-
Do they have traditional spaghetti and meatball or just meat sauce?

We enjoy sitting and visiting with other folks at breakfast and lunch in the MDR.
-
I forgot the times the MDR is open in the mornings and at lunch. You get to meet a lot of nice people otherwise you wouldn't everyday
-
We don't mine getting dressed up in the MDR. Back in 2004 when we took our first cruise, the majority of the cruisers including children were dressed up. When we took our last cruise in 2010, it was more casual but we still dressed up. We are without jobs now and can't afford to cruise anymore but if we ever go again, we will dress up

I like the main dining room for breakfast and lunches. Food is always fresh and hot

My grandfather had a grocery store in Hungerford Texas and had it in his store when it came out in 1972. It was very popular. It was a lot sweeter though than Dr Pepper.
It was first called Peppo

My wife finally got a job after being laid off for almost a year
Will probably book a Alaska cruise in the spring of 2014.

The pizza is terrible with gross toppings taste- Frozen and heated up.
We were on Voyager out of Galveston in 2009 and Soreno's had sandwiches.
Carnival's pizza and sandwiches are much better.
Wish RCI ships would offer more snacks like chips and dips, nachos. etc.

How was the quality of the foods?
In the main dining room?, buffet? and specialty restaurants and snacks
-
They need more live bands not Karaoke

We're not big tippers so no more than $1 per bag-Depends how many one dollar bills I have in my wallet

Thanks for the great reviews Jen
We hope to take the Radiance soon, when we can afford it. We've always wanted to sail in Alaska- We've been on 5 previous RC cruises to either Eastern or Western Caribbean and once to the Mexican Riveria.
I will miss the Promenade and the sports bar though but look forward to the specialty restaurants.
We may have to postpone it until next years as my wife and I lost our jobs earlier in the year so we will be without incomes-hopefully for a short time.
If we wouldn't have lost them-we would definitely been going on a cruise in Alaska this year. I got laid off in February and my wife got laid off two months ago,
Times are tough down here in South Texas and hard to find jobs where we live in small towns
Getting nervous as trip approaches about planning...anyone else?

We always seem to get nervous before the cruise on the day before. Always wondering if we have everything packed and if our luggage gets there
