  1. Any recommendations for a good rum shop near the cruise terminal or The Boatyard? Not looking for touristy, but with 1500 of them on the island we were hoping for some in the area that we will be visiting!

  2. Been there in the rain. We were skirting hurricanes on that cruise.

It started raining in the afternoon a little while before we were to leave. The rain was warm, and not too bad. On the boat ride back it rained a little harder, but the crew did a great job keeping everyone happy. They even played several rain-themed songs. CCR's Have You Ever Seen The Rain, as well as others. Everyone was singing. :)

Go and have a good time. IF it rains, it is usually in the afternoon for a short while. Don't let a little warm rain spoil your trip. :)

  3. A couple days ago, taking a shower on the Pride, I noticed the water was the same rusty colour as in the pics posted by PPs. The colour lasted for the entire length of my shower. I tried not to think about what it might be and just hoped it was rust or minerals.:( I have had this happen occasionally with the water from our sink and from our bathtub on previous Pride cruises, as well. Usually just once or twice on a cruise, then it clears up. But never pleasant to see.:(

It took about 45 minutes for my water to clear up. I was told that the cause was due to the fact that they "switched tanks". I felt that the timing was bad since it was right before elegant night when everyone is getting ready.

  4. That pic of the sink looks like the sinks on the Holiday or the Celabration. Sinks on fantasy class ships are square steele wall hung sinks pink in color and the faucet is off to one side

I took the pic a couple weeks ago on a Fantasy-class ship.

  5. I was reading John Heald's post about Carnival selling bottled water by the case, and I read that some people drink the ship's water from the tap. I just wanted you to see the water that came out of our tap a couple weeks ago on the Imagination.

I was told by several staff that it was no problem because it was "just sediment".

    Drink up!

  6. We saw Music Asia perform on the Splendor and they were great! We were in the cigar bar enjoying an after-dinner cigar and listening to them. That will always be a good memory since Carnival has now taken the cigar bars away.

I hope we run across them again on another cruise.

  7. I read on another post about some ships having interactive TV. Does the Splendor have this and if so, what do you do with it?

Do both dining rooms have "Your Choice Dining" or is this limited to only one dining room?

You can order room service on the TV or check your sail and sign account.

Anytime dining is in the Black Pearl, and you enter upstairs off the atrium.

  8. A question for all you "aft" people:

Is it louder or is there more vibration due to being above the props (azipods)? And, do you feel more movement because you are not in the center of the ship?

We have always stayed in the center of the ship where there is less movement, but these pics make us want to book one of these aft rooms...
