  1. I'm hoping it's a paperwork issue.

It's been suggested that maybe Greece wants people drinking on land, not on board. But that makes no sense. If it became a regular thing, no drinks in Greek ports, people would choose other itineries and avoid Greece completly - then they would loose out on revenue in other areas - goods, food etc.

It does also feel that it's only NCL that is affected and not all their ships at that. If other cruise lines are allowed open bars then it's not a Greek authority decision. Fingers crossed this gets sorted soon.

    Thanks for everyones input 🙂

  2. Thanks for a lovely write up of this cruise. We were also on this trip. I'm not going to repeat all that you have already covered, but I am going to beg everyone reading this to take note of a very important issue. We sadly didn't realise that we needed a multi-entry visa. Oh boy, did that cause us some grief! Too long a story to go into, but please please double check you have the correct one before travelling. If you are English and have to purchase another visa in Male in order to get back into India, please be aware you have to pay three times more than other people. Sooooo stressfull. I'm also pleased to see that Alicat posted photos of the buddahs etc without people in them. It's rude to take photos of a Buddah with yourself stood in front and many tourists are not aware of this but the locals are too polite to tell you off when doing so.

  3. We booked on a cruise for March - taking in the Maldives for three days. Im struggling to find any information about excursions or trips to any of the islands. A friend has said that they book an 1 or 2 nights overnight stay (but they are BA cabin crew - not cruisers) .

Has anyone managed to turn a three day stay over in Male into a nice stay at one of the islands nearby?

Any info about what to do would be appreciated - thanks :)

  4. Mail on Sunday gave away 500 a couple of weeks ago.

50% of P&O's guests are currently "winners" and travel agents on Jolly Boys outings

Erm, I'm sure that's not true Tom. I'm not a P&O guest or a travel agent. I'm what is known as a comper (someone who enters competitions as a hobby) and I know of at least ten more compers who have won also. (and quite a few who've had to turn it down because the dates weren't suitable hth's

  5. HI there - I've also won the 17 night Western Med cruise (got the phone call today - hooray) The fuel charge was mentioned but straight away I was told to just ignore it and take no notice as it's a standard thingamebob and we don't have to pay. Hope that helps :)
