  1. Agree with most of your post.. We had a mini-suite which is nothing more than a balcony cabin on most ships. The closet is poorly positioned and required a contortionist to reach the only available shelves. Advertised square footage of cabin is not accurate and includes the balcony area, though this is not made clear on company website.

There is a $14 service charge for room service.

Our steward was never able to have cabin cleaned before 1:00 p.m. One day he did not do a cleaning only a turn down service.

Had many issues with reservations not found in the system despite our printed confirmations which we brought on board.

Agree, entertainment was superior to that on other lines.

  2. We'll be on a 9-night cruise out of Tampa on Vision in January, and because of the length and itinerary of the cruise, we're expecting it to be pretty top-heavy with C&A members. I wonder how crowded the diamond lounge will be. At least there will be drink vouchers as well. Hopefully there will be some quiet times during the day to get a coffee in the lounge and enjoy it then.

We did the Vision out of Tampa last year. The room is not large and most nights we were unable to find seating. Several persons (including us) went in, got a beverage and took it into the area just outside the door where there is no seating but it does have a small ledge where you can place a drink. There is a bar not too far from the Diamond Lounge but it too is small.

  3. Dear Bill - you beg the question. Why is Azamara passing along to the passengers a tax that may be capricious, differs from one EU country to another and not readily understood when a modest increase in the fare could cover it?

You are so right! A luxury cruise used to mean you did not have to wonder about such details. You paid a little more up front (and still do) but you knew that was your total charge. No need to check a final bill or possible errors at the end of the cruise. No need to worry about disputed items.

Maybe it is just not worth it anymore.

  4. Hi, Rose, Guess u r back from your cruise by now. How did u like Amsterdam? We did Amsterdam with Azamara Journey a few weeks ago o the Chelsea Flower Show cruise.

We will be going back this month for a 2 day hotel stay before boarding the Journey for a back to back pair of cruises. The first one is to Norway ports. Would b interested to know how you liked your cruise and the ports u visited.

  5. This will be my first Amazara cruise - I love Lobster - Do they serve lobster tails (at least one evening) in the MDR or do you have to go to the specialty restaurant to get lobster?

    Marion

I don't see that anyone answered the question about complimentary wines in the specialty restaurants, or did I miss an answer?

  6. Azamara has many repeat travelers, maybe we can exchange opinions, experiences, etc. of our travels. This might help in choosing tours, locations, etc. We are just off the Journey in So. America and booked on the May 27 flower show cruise. Any opinions?
