  1. I was on this cruise as well and I concur too many unruly children. Other than that we had a great time. We always found deck chairs next to the pool whenever we wanted them. I won't hesitate to move a towel that's been sitting abandoned for hours. No one ever came back to claim them. We had the dining package so our meals were peaceful and we'll timed with the exception of Le Bistro. Cirque was great we went the first night and my husband was chosen to participate. We had a great time overall. That said because of the number of kids, unless we bring our own, our next vacation will be at an adult only AI resort.

  2. I've read several articles recently that indicate the best airfares are 30 - 45 days before your flights. I have no idea if that is always true. We're looking at cross country flights right now, from Los Angeles to NYC, at about $400 pp in September. That's actually a pretty good price, but we're waiting to see if we can get a lower price as we get closer.

That's a great price for that flight! I doubt you'll find cheaper at times you are comfortable with. I'd book at that price. It's a steal.

  3. The OP has the UDP, so best to book specialty restaurants once on board. Otherwise, their credit card will be charged the fees when booked and they will have to ask for credits to their on board account after they are on board.

In addition to the MDR for lunch, the Star should have an expanded Blue Lagoon (O'Sheehan's) post dry dock in March as another alternative to the buffet.

With the UDP you can book on Ncl.Com with no charge. I've got reservations for my cruise next week and was never asked for my credit card. I am not in a suite.

  4. Im gonna be honest, crusing isnt really a big deal for the college crowd. Its too hard on those under 21 to drink. What you ahve to be on the look out for is your cruise to be over run with kids. Families all look to go on vacation over school breaks. Which is the reason we dont cruise March thru August.

  5. My husband and I have opted for the UBP for our upcoming cruise. We usually do all inclusives and easily drink more than 6-7 drinks a day. Mimosa at breakfast, 4-5 poolside, a glass of wine or 2 with dinnner, drinks at the casino and/or during a show they add up quick. We are not walking around passed out drunk either. Over teh course of an entire day, its easy for a lot of people on vacation.
