Sorry to highjack. But .... New Yorkers - hubby and I are sailing NCL Prima transatlantic cruise in September, London - NYC. We are staying in Manhattan a few days after our cruise and would like to spend a day in Brooklyn. I was born in Brooklyn (Greenpoint) but moved away when I was 4. Any suggestions of what our best mode of transportation to get there from Manhattan, things to see, where to eat, bars, etc. Thanks for any input!

Do you upgrade through NCL or through the airline?
through the airlines.

We booked the BOGO airfare with NCL from SDF to London for our transatlantic cruise on the Prima in September, 2022. We couldn't pass it up for $649 for both of us. That way I can justify upgrading to first class!

16 days til Sunshine

Thanks for sharing your cruise with us. I thoroughly enjoyed your review and pictures. Sailing her on September 8th with DH and cannot wait!

I am loving your review ! We leave on The Sunshine on September 8th. We sailed her last voyage as the Destiny before they sent her to be transformed into The Sunshine. I am in shock that I read in your review that there isn't a dedicated nightclub. That is very disappointing. ! Thank you for the heads up on that ! Keep the great review coming !
DH and I are sailing her on September 8th too!

24 days until we are Sunshine bound

We were at Orient Beach yesterday, 7/27. Beach was beautiful. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas for rent. We paid $30 for 3 chairs and umbrellas. There is a brand new bar, restaurant and facilities on site. Waiters patrolling beach to take food/drink orders. They were working hard to make it a great experience. Parasailing and jet skis were also available.

44 days til we're Dreamin' !

Following your review. We sail on her the end of April. Booked in spa cabin 12219. We were in a spa mini-suite for our first spa cruise last fall on another cruise line. Excited to compare the two.

Hubby checked ours last Sunday - our Cloud 9 Spa Balcony went down. Saved us $120!

We are staying at Embassy Suites for couple days before our cruise on the Dream in May. Our first time in NOLA - very excited!!

We just returned from our cruise and we took a canister of Gatorade powder purchased from Dick's Sporting store. Mixed it up in our Tervis tumbler, worked out perfect!

Please come back and write more! Love your review. We've never been to NOLA and I'm thinking we could combine cruise with a new port/city to visit too.

We loved Carlisle Bay in Barbados! This is one of our favorite ports and we always head straight to Lobster Alive which is next door to The Boatyard, but a lot quieter and less rowdy. I believe we pay $15 for 2 chairs, umbrella, and 2 drink coupons. We snorkel with the turtles about 100 yds off the beach every time we're there. The boat vendors will approach you for snorkeling and will start off with a higher rate, but we pay $20 pp and this was recently. We've walked both ways many times and it's no more than a 30 min leisurely walk. The walk is very nice along the waterfront and through the marina and over the bridge. We like to walk there in the morning and cab it back in the afternoon heat. You'll love it!!
We'll have to try that next time. We've only been to this port once. Thanks for suggestion. [emoji267]

We just did The Baths last week and the boat ride was not rough. We didn't have any problems. The Baths are incredibly beautiful.
