  1. I sailed mostly with Carnival around 9 cruises but in 2006 sailed one RCI Cruise. Liked the Carnival ones better but 3 years ago went back on RCI and the entertainment was far superior. I now cruise for itinerary so my December PC transit cruise on HAL was a no brainer my next cruise is on RCI to Cuba CCL just didn’t haven’t same dates and itinerary. Planning on a May 2019 Alaska Cruise either on HAL or Princess they have naturalists on board the lower end cruise lines don’t. My cruises are usually booked during a sale. Check May lots of deals

We've done 2 Alaska cruises with Carnival (2015 and 2017) and there was a naturalist on board both times. It was wonderful- she did educational lectures and alerted us to wildlife sitings throughout the cruise. They also had a park ranger come on board to narrate during our time in Glacier Bay. So don't count Carnival out if you're still looking to book.

  2. Yes, Chubby is still in the Posh dining room. He told us that he will be on the Freedom until the end of July and then he has a 2 month vacation. He seemed to think that he might be moving to another ship after that.

I'm not sure about all of the movies but I do know that one night they played Coco and one night they played a Star Wars movie (maybe the most recent one?).

  3. On our last cruise we would get our 18 month old daughter whole milk at the coffee shop. They did charge us for it, but it was a small fee, only 60 cents, for a huge milkshake-sized glass of it. We were not able to get whole milk at any of the bars and I never saw it on the buffet (I always saw other types of milk, but not whole). Being able to grab it at the coffee shop was a convenient option for us. I realize the OP wasn't necessarily asking about whole milk though :)

  4. Hello!

We just came back from our 8 day Alaska cruise from Vancouver to Seattle stopping in Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan. In Juneau, we did the helicopter tour to the Mendenhall Glacier (with our 21 month old). In Skagway, we did the train. In Ketchikan, we just walked around and did the self-tour in the small town. We were in Suite 6158 with a crib and a balcony. We had a nice time.

I know families out there sometimes wonder what the experience was like, and have questions about cruising in general and especially with a toddler. Please feel free to ask me questions if you'd like.

Was there anything you brought for your toddler that you were especially happy that you had or that made your trip easier (toys, gear, etc.)? Was there anything you wish that you had with you but didn't bring?

Did you use any of the children's programs like babysitting (at night or in port) or any of the activities for toddlers and parents together? If so, would you recommend them? I know most of the programming is for kiddos over 2 yrs old.

Thanks! So happy to hear that your family had a nice time!
