If the new cruise booking was free of charge, well frankly, that went completely over my head. That would have been a great deal, especially with them paying airline change fee and hotel fee if any.

They should open up the freight elevators if functional... not so classy but functional.

OK, yesterday I received an email stating that my upcoming cruise (Odyssey out of IST on June 7th) is so popular, would I like to cancel and rebook a similar itinerary in August and receive a $200 credit. I ignored the "generous" offer!

Today I get another similar email asking me to call them either way, even if I was declining their great offer. So I call whatever 800 # was in the email, wait on hold for 10+ minutes just to say, "thanks but no thanks".

What a joke! First, just the change fees alone on my flights would dwarf the $200 discount on the future cruise. But I did not appreciate feeling like I had to make a call to say no to their offer.

Do they overbook cruises?

Same question... Sunday June 15th we will be in Athens post-cruise and it is our anniversary. Looking for suggestions for that special restaurant experience... but not into eating foam!

We left from the European side on the Odyssey 2 years ago. The views of Istanbul as you sail away are breathtaking, the best part of the trip. Also impressive is the line-up of scores of ships and barges from all over the world, waiting for their turn to sail up the Bosporus.

Is there a name for the cruise terminal or a pier #? Or do all the major cruise ships leave from the same terminal? Having never been there before, I woud like to be able to give a specific destination to my taxi driver.

On the Odyssey in June... where is the pier from which the ship sails? How far from the central Old Quarter? European side or Asian side?
