  1. For those that have never sailed in Alaska before, you actually want to cruise slowly through the Inside Passage. The scenery is breathtaking and you don't want to miss any of it. If you think you are missing Alaska because you are missing a port, that's just not true! You will be surrounded by Alaska's beauty the entire time you are in the passage. Be sure you watch for whales - we saw them from our balcony every day.

  2. Can anyone tell me how far outside of Skagway we can go in a car without a passport? I am wondering if we can go past the US Border station as long as we turn around before the Canadian Border station? Or would we have to stop at the US Station? From what I've read, there isn't a required stop at the US Station heading towards Canada, but you do have to stop to come back towards Skagway. We are trying to decide if its worth a rental car just to explore area around Skagway and Dyea. We will have my fiancé's son with us who does not have a passport, and it's not an option for him to get it before the cruise (his mother won't allow it) We will have a notarized letter that he has permission to be with on the cruise and his birth certificate.
