We’re working on it. Don’t have a card and don’t know how to get all the info they say they need. Already submitted and they kicked it back because they say I didn’t provide all the info.

I pulled up my VFIP page on the CCL web site and took a screen shot of it and sent it to them.

  2. Decided after 20 some odd cruises that I would try my friend who has recently become a TA. Booked a 7 nt April cruise on the Carnival Magic. Chose an inside on deck 6. Just received an e mail from his company asking if we wanted to upgrade to a deck 9 balcony for a total of $ 330.00. Couldn't say yes fast enough. May have to buy my friend a beer next time I see him. :)

  3. In 2011 my wife and I decided to give Carnival a try as we were RCCL cruisers for many years. My wife has a severe food allergy to some tropical fruits containing latex/rubber ingredients. We met this sweet hostess Karla on the Victory who took great care of my wife.

A year later we were on the Sensation and we were heading to the dining room to advise them of her allergies we passed this hostess in the hall. As we passed each other we all turned around and looked at each other and it was Karla. She said you're the lady with the latex allergy. She looked at our cards and told us don't worry I'm in your dining room and I'll take care of it.

We kept in touch on social media and every time we sailed and went to the dining room to advise them of her allergies the staff would know. Finally on one cruise I had to ask how they knew, since we always waited until we got on board. The hostess smiled and said a little birdie, Karla, e mailed us and told us you were coming.

In 2013 Karla left Carnival to go back home to Croatia and raise a family. We've taken several Carnival cruises since she's left and to this day Karla will contact her friend, who is a chef, and have him contact the chef on the ship we are on and make him aware of my wife's allergies.

  4. We were on this sailing as well and really enjoyed it. Our biggest complaint was when we got to dinner the first night, they had us (my husband, 3 year old and I) at a table for two with my son's chair on the side. There were at least 5 tables in a row that were like this. This was our 4th cruise with our son and never had this before. This was not acceptable. There was no room on the table. Our waiters had trouble fitting three dinner plates on the table in addition to everything else.

We ended up talking to one of the assistant maitre'd and his first response as to why we were seated at a table for 2 was that there were no tables for 3. He then told us that the ship was full, which I knew, and that they wanted to make as many people happy as they could. They couldn't fit as many people in the MDR if they did this. I told him that I didn't book this cruise 6+ months out to be squashed at a table. He told us that we could move to the later seating, which wasn't happening with a 3 year old. He then took our request and told us to not expect it to happen.

We did end up getting a larger table at the early seating, but the attitude of that assistant maitre'd made me mad.

Other than that issue the first night, the cruise was fantastic. My 3 year old loved Camp Ocean and the staff was great. He is still talking about it.

Was on this cruise as well. Was this guy in the Chic restaurant?

  5. Only announcements I've ever heard in the cabin on Carnival are those dealing with safety/emergency situations. Routine announcement are only heard in public spaces (I think) and not necessarily in all of those.

Agreed, if an announcement comes into the cabin something is wrong.

Now older cruisers help me out, I remember being on one ship but can't remember the line where there was a switch in the cabin that you could control whether you heard the regular announcements in the cabin. You could switch it off at night when you went to bed. When I asked the steward about an emergency announcement he told us that emergency announcements over rides the switch.

It was back in the day when I sailed with RCCL, Premier and Carnival.

I haven't seen this switch in years though.

  6. The crew. I have made many friends with crew members during our cruises. For example last Saturday night one waiter called to say he had landed in Orlando and was waiting to go to his new ship. He invited us down to his hotel for a drink and had a great time reuniting with him. Now they all send us messages on where they get assigned and ask us to come cruise on their ship.

  7. Mine has a 1, 2 also but when I scroll further down the page under guest notes it states that 1 means my reservation has been linked to another reservation for dining, which is correct since my it has my son's booking number next to it. And 2 means I booked under the 55 and older senior rate which is also correct. So I'm guessing that the numbers mean nothing except how many notes are attached to your reservation.

  8. A bummer worse than that is living here, seeing those prices, and not being able to jump on them!

Really, just saw a 7 day Breeze cruise that left Sunday for 199.00 inside but could not get off work to go! Not always good to live here with having to let those cruises get away.

  9. We've been on the Sensation 8 times over the past year and love the ship and especially her crew. IMHO the best crew working for Carnival. That's what keeps us going back to the Sensation. Relax and prepare yourselves for a great cruise. I've done one or 2 reviews last year on the Sensation.

  10. I like the idea, but the first come first serve seating plan? How many hours before the doors open do you think the line is going to be to get one of the non reserved V.I.P. seats. I see lines stretching through the ship. One person getting a seat and the arguing over not being able to save a seat and getting people to slide across to the center to make more room. I forsee a seating nightmare on Carnival's horizon if they don't change that.

  11. Also you can bring your own alcohol on board. IMO the service is by far better than any of the other cruise lines I've been on. The rooms are definitely bigger and the split bathroom is nice except if you have a teenage grand daughter like mine who steams up the shower room and then goes to the next room to get dressed and do her hair. So I still had to use the spa to get ready. :D
