Can you use credit cards in most ports or what currency do you need?

We will be flying in the day before our cruise on 12/11. My son has Wydham points and has booked us a room at the Wydham Resort at Deerfield Beach. We will be cruising out of Fort Lauderdale so trying to find the cheapest transportation back and forth from the hotel. Our flight will arrive in FLL at appx 10:00 a.m. on the 10th. Any suggestions? He wanted to book us in the Shelbourne in Miami, but I was worried about the transportation getting back and forth from there. Any suggestions?

We are thinking about flying one way from Myrtle Beach to Ft Lauderdale on Spirit. The return flight doesn't leave FLL until almost 9;00 pm. We can rent a car and almost be home before Spirit ever leaves. Is there a car rental agency that will deliver a car to the cruise port or pick us up to take us to get car?

I understand, from an employee of Celebrity, that they will be more friendly to single bookings.

Just received flight change from US Air. Original return flight departed at 1:05 pm. That flight has been canceled and our return flight has been changed to 11:45 am. This means we are going to have to hustle to make that flight. If we carry our lipuggage off (I assume HAL lets you do that), are their taxis waiting that early.

Last time we cruised out of Puerto Rico they had a liquor store at the port that you could buy bottles of alcohol and carry onto the ship. Does anyone know if they still allow that? We have a stop in Puerto Rico and were wondering if this available.
